A special incoming...

I have been waiting for my first Rolex for about 6 months, got the call yesterday afternoon and picked up my new Sub Date yesterday evening. Love the watch and its my first Rolex (have an omega and a tudor). I was enjoying the watch and the very unexpected call. My previous watches all are tied to a certain event, this one was just a random purchase essentially.

First thing this morning, i found out my grandfather passed away late yesterday...this watch will always be tied to the passing of a great man that i have a life full of memories with. Will cherish it always.

now onto the pic:

Congratulations Dan.

Bitter sweet, but perhaps you can take the happiest of thoughts of your grandfather and tie them to this watch.

Tough news today DaninFlorida, sorry to hear about your grandfather. Hopefully you'll think about the good things when you look at your watch and not just today.

Excellent purchase: nothing like the first one!
Sorry to hear about your grandfather - no matter how much we try to prepare for these things, it's always really sad.

But, since the watch is forevermore associated with this event: make it a celebration of his life and all the joy he brought to you over the years.
