What other watches did you actually see? After all, I assume they were all tucked away under a long sleeve shirt Any Apple watches amongst them? |

I'm going against the grain here and saying that the black dialed Explorer II actually dresses better with a suit than an all stainless Sub and GMT.
The reason I say that is because there's no color to the bezel on the Explorer II. A dressier watch would NOT have color to the bezels, including the black bezel of the Sub. They would have a metal bezel, like an Explorer 1, 2, or any Datejust or Day Date.

Exactly this 100%! 99% Apple watches or frankly 80% bare wrists with iPhones on the dinner table! Less than 1% of us even wear a real watch much much less a dress watch. Enjoy your Explorer and move on…. 😎

It's not a dress watch, so no - it's not appropriate. A proper dress watch or no watch would look better.

Yes, wear it! Who cares what others might think and anyway, I guarantee you nobody (apart from some WIS) will notice it! Enjoy the wedding!

Well, he's just a duke. Therefore, he still has plenty of time to learn etiquette before his coronation. Exactly that's what we can see on this picture: The Duke of Cambridge practices wearing the crown - on his wrist.

Gentlemen, I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. Maybe it wasn't the best English humor, but obviously I meant it as a joke.
That is why please allow me to remind you that a few days ago I posted a picture of him wearing such a watch with a tux. That's why I believed then and now that if he can do this, then there is no question that the old-fashioned watch dress code is officially considered outdated. |
