I totally agree with letting people know what is happening but there are occasions whereby the post (or subsequent posts) infers that the whole town/city is a no go area which isn't true.
Sure there are gangs out there looking for people who flaunt their watches but they are not everywhere and not stopping every citizen to check what watch they are wearing. So thank you for giving us the heads up of an incident in ........., it is good and useful information, we can now decide whether we want to continue to wear our watches as we have or whether we want to make alternative arrangements on what we wear on our wrist if we are in that area. Please remember that the vast majority of towns and cities are perfectly safe to walk around in, just be sensible and be aware of what is happening around you. I read recently about gangs in Europe using social media to target people who openly post images of themselves in and around their home or local area with their 'hyped' watch clearly on display, the gangs are working out where people live and tackling them at home or close to home. Advice from the local Police was to ideally stop posting images of your watch or alternatively if you must post ensure that nothing in the images that gives any indication of who you are or where the watch is kept. The Police were somewhat surprised that people would be so stupid as to post details of themselves, where they live and the valuable watches and jewellery that they own on line. But apparently some people do do this.

Soooooo many politically idiocy posts.
Makes one wonder how we all communicate to buy a loaf of bread, or a carton of milk??! Thread closed, due to the two left feet dancing with one right foot in the Macarena. Or is that two right feet co-existing with one left foot?🤔 Get over the political stance people. It’s just stupid to put it mildly, and not anything we want on a watch forum. Closed.
