Is there a way to use a similar deployment like the nautilus strap. And use a thinner strap?

Maybe something from another model? I just got it and the strap is definitely unisex.. small for me. I have 1 bitch left and it is quite risky putting it on.

Yesterday, I got some additional information from from Henri Stern. They were very friendly and helpful.
+ There exists a "women's long" / "men's regular" strap size 115/75mm (standard 18/14mm taper) for $289. Currently in stock.
+ PP will custom make the exact strap with 18/16mm taper for $389/ea. Lead time is 4-5 months.
+ As stated in this thread, the matching clevis buckle comes from the 5960g for $710. No pin notch.
+ White gold spring bars can be added for $75/ea.

7234 owners, did you add a wider strap?

A couple photos of my 7234g with Delugs straps. They are both 18/16, which look better than the OEM 18/14.

Looks good. Any chance you can post a similar pic like the last picture in post #21 if you have a watch with a 20/16 strap with your 18/16 7234g? His strap in that pic is 18/14 and I'd like to see a more direct comparison of the 18/16 and 20/16 side by side.

Hi Everyone, as a new 7234g owner I’m very interested in this. Where do you find strap suppliers that are compatible with the quick release Patek spring bars?

I've been working with customer service (Louise) at Camille Fournet. They are aware of the PP cutout for spring bars and will do so on special order.

Agree. Would be great to see more images of the taper. Personally, would like to see 18/16 next to 18/14 (yes my image compare 20/16).

Also, I must admit that the 18/14 taper is growing on me. I think it works and am leaning toward staying with these measurements.

Now, the topic of length is a whole other thing. Anybody have any insight on 110/70 on a 165mm wrist? The standard for this watch is 105/65. I recently purchased the "women's long" and have now paired the original long end with the "women's long" buckle end to make 105/75 and must admit that I like it. Will try to post a pic.

I don’t have a watch with 20/16 but this is a couple other pics that might help with the comparison.

The Delugs strap comes with Patek-like quick release and also SS buckle so you can change straps super quickly.

Thanks, that’s very helpful! I think the quick release pins inquiry is about using the PP pins (gold on gold) to which I’m not certain how easy it is to remove from Delugs straps. Camille Fournet told me
Their quick release pins are not designed to be removed but would add the cut out to allow them to be switched for Patek’s pins.

Anyway here are some wrist shots with the 105/75mm configuration and 18/14mm taper OEM strap.

Wow that is cool. I am worried other strap cutouts may not line up well etc.

Don’t kill me but I’m asking because it gets humid in Sydney over summer. Anyone put a tasteful rubber strap on these just for the sweaty months?

If you search for 5524 you’ll find some additional
Watch strap photos including some on rubber. A consideration is to get a rubber lined strap.

See photo. This is a Delugs canvas strap with rubber lining. Note the quick release spring bars, however. No cutout to switch over to your Patek spring bars.

Yes and it does work on the particular strap in the photo, although not as easily as the true cutout. However, I'm not certain that a high end strap with padding will have that much maleability. The Delugs strap is "flat". Other people may have more experience than me here, but CF indicated that their pins are not designed to be removed and thus acknowledged that Patek fully cuts the strap for ease, and thus indicated they would do so for me (as part of a custom order).

Super helpful. This looks great. Few questions:

- Is the buckle end on the short end of your Delug strap the same width as the original? From the picture it looks slightly wider.
- Will the original clevis buckle fit on your new strap?
- Is the short end on your new strap 18 all the way without a taper?

The strap is 18/16, so on the buckle end is 16 vs 14 on the original. This also means the original buckle won’t fit the Delugs strap. And yes the strap tapers a bit from 18 to 16.

Thanks. I wasn't aware the original strap tapers down to 14 on both ends. Any chance you know what the 5524 strap tapers down to?

Do you know if there is a R version of the clevis buckle that would fit a 18/16 strap? Not sure if the 5524 tapers down to a 16 since lug width is 21.

Nice suggestions and lovely photos throughout. If the 18/14 taper is an issue, I'd recommend trying out an 18/18 Swiss Army Cavalry riveted "aviator" matte leather strap off the silver version (circa the mid 1990s). (Strap will be signed "Germany" and come with a drilled silver-colored steel buckle versus gunmetal.)

A black 18mm NATO one-piece would also be of consideration.

The obvious solution would be to get the buckle from a 5960/01G which luckily has the same clevis prong buckle design as the pilot watches. That one is 16mm and should be perfect for beefing up a 7234G just the right amount. Make sure to order a custom 18/16mm strap with rectangular holes and no pin notch.
In the last sentence it says "no pin notch" what does that mean?

A sharp knife and 3 seconds per strap. There’s no margin to it. You just need to relieve enough so there’s no pressure on the springbar lever. I’ve done it on a number of straps, including CF padded (3.5mm).

Just joined the club. The weather where I'm from is not conducive to leather straps. So straight onto a rubber backed canvas in grey which also dresses the watch down a bit.

Why choose a rubber backed strap? Does it feel comfortable against sweat and is it swimmable?

There is a Hermes zermatt leather inner lining that they use for apple watches. That is super comfortable and very good against sweat
