5960P Black Dial

The last color dial before Patek retired the 5960 reference. I had a chance to buy it new back in 2014 and regretted letting it go.

However, a few weeks ago, I was blessed with the opportunity to purchase it and I have to say, I couldn’t be happier. That creamy black dial oozes class and it think Patek saved the best for last. At least for me. Enjoy the pics.

I think the 5960 "classical versions" (P, R and G "Moscow") are my favorite watches from PP, considering my use for an everyday wearer. I love that watch, especially since I saw first the grey one in the metal.

I really thought about getting this black one these last 2 years.

Congratulations and wear it in the best of health!

The black dial on the 5960P is quite nice!

I remember trying them on at the AD before they were discontinued and it was listed at $95k USD at the time. Not sure what the current market price is for them now, but since they were produced for only a year, they are certainly bound to be a collector's item.

I have the 5960G-010 Mercury of Moscow. In the same way as this all black dial P, the limited edition is an all blue dial, as in the sub-dial chrono register dial is the same color as the mail dial.

All other 5906 dials have a different chronograph register sub-dial color. For me the one color dial works the best.

This P is possibly the classiest modern watch put there.....I'm in the market for one should one cross my path.

How are you enjoying it 1 month later, Logan? Has it become a daily?

I gave it a solid month before passing judgment. Unfortunately, the 5960P was not for me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful watch and the black dial is wonderful.

Two things that I noticed during the month.

1. it’s a very thick and heavy watch.

2. As the days passed, it felt uncomfortable on my wrist. The leather strap was either too tight or too loose for me. No middle ground until it be Abe unbearable.

So, the piece is out the door with two other pieces to get a new one that I hope is what I was looking from the star.

To be continued….

Thank you for the feedback. This heavy/comfort matter was my concern as well (I have a thin wrist). It weighs around 145 g with the Pt buckle (which should offset the case a little maybe).
I love these 5960P so much that I'll give them a try but indeed a doubt on that side remains valid.

I hope your next purchase will satisfy your passion.
