How much money do you have? You can have one tomorrow if you are willing to spend enough:)

Depends on your relationship with your AD.

My local AD said there are 15 people on the list. He jokingly(?) said they plan on getting 2 per year.

Above sounds about right. My two local ADs said they aren't adding anyone to the wait list because it would be just too long.

If you don't have an AD relationship, you aren't likely to get one, so wait times are largely irrelevant.

Gray market or re-sellers have them readily available, but you'll be paying a hefty markup.

The waiting time only depends on the kind of client you are.
That’s the only rule...so keep on dreaming

I wouldn’t go secondary market and pay that insane markup, unless you won’t be sorry once there’s a major correction. I would develop an AD relationship, but I wouldn’t buy a bunch of stuff from them that I don’t need, just to curry favor.

Well, it depends. If you're willing to pay the market rate, then there is no wait. If, on the other hand, you want to stand in line with a bunch of other people and wait for a piece that is allocated to your AD at the speed of a trickle, then it could be awhile. Especially if some of those people standing in line with you are established customers that have spent a LOT more money with that AD and he's going to take care of before you.

Your choice.

So given that there will be new models to produce after Baselworld, will that effect production output for existing models like the BLRO?

I believe rolex is demand pull based. That is why they guage reaction at basel and each ad makes his orders for the year there. Ss pepsi will always be popular but almost every model has a let down year demand wise after year 1. It even happened with the ceramic daytona ss when they were going for 15k and then bumped back up to 17k and onward. I could be wrong but I think demand has already reduced a bit. Sellers are sitting on lots of inventory.

I would say this is a fairly believable and real scenario that he has put forth.
