Tiffany dial or not?

Hello all, I've been thinking to get a Patek watch. After talking to a Patek AD and Tiffany, I feel like I should get a Tiffany dial since they are more rare. However, the seller won't be able to give me any discount on watches like 5146 but promise me to add me to the wait list for nautilus. What do you think? Thank you!

I personally don’t see the appeal, I’m buying a Patek, so why would I want it to have someone else’s branding on it? I also prefer having less text on the dial, so this is adding text AND promoting some other brand, which makes it doubly bad for me.

The only “good” thing that I can think of is that there are less stamped than not, so I guess that makes them rarer and potentially more valuable…

I think a small premium on a dress watch is a nice touch. But paying anything over 10-20% premium is pretty lame

To the OP.....

I hate to say this.... But your AD is lying regarding the Nautilus with the T-stamp.....

Even if he/she will put you on the waiting lists for the Nautilus with the T-stamp it will take you 20 + years to get the watch or you may not even get the watch......

Unless you spend close to million dollars then your waiting list time get shorter....

I recently considered the same thing. In the end I concluded that Tiffany had far too many wealthier clients to cater to (not just Ninja). The Tiffany salesperson wanted me to buy a watch for close to $90K (that I really didn’t want) that was selling new on the grey market for half that price, just for the CHANCE of acquiring one piece I wanted. And once I ‘bought in’ there were no guarantees. I could be stuck waiting for years perhaps. And what if my salesperson left Tiffany for another job? What if a new manager took over and decided I wasn’t a priority? What if the model I wanted was discontinued while I was waiting? In addition to all that, I got a negative vibe from the salesperson I dealt with. If I’m considering establishing a business relationship with someone, which involves that much money (and a fair amount of trust on my part that I’m going to eventually get the watch I want), you’d better believe I consider the apparent character of the person I’m dealing with. And in this case the salesperson was a bit of an asshat. So I walked. No regrets!

Easy Pass IMO. I am not knocking the stamp and have no chance to get one anyways but I pay to see two words on the dial... PATEK PHILIPPE. If You live in NY and maybe have a special relationship with the AD then maybe you have a connection with the brand which makes you feel good about spending more but it is not my cup of tea.

Soon, just like last time when I got the grey 5726, it took a few weeks from me being notified to delivery.

LOL that these guys are busting your chops about the “tilted” T stamp...but LMAO at your witty responses.

I think the T stamp on certain classic dress watches may in the long run pay off. A T stamped 5170P or 5230G mmmmm :D

It’s just the food from the Tiffany’s cafe...George there ate most of it.

I enjoy the Tiffany stamp, the people that work there, the blue box, and the events they put on. So I admit my bias but on certain watches like 5396, 5524, or 5726 the extra text makes the dial for me. On others like 5711 I can take or leave the stamp.
