Value question on Monte Blanc Pen w/floating diamond

Was given a pen long time ago and never used it, still in original box etc...its a Meiststuck Montblanc, Diamond Classique Ballpoint Pen. Box states made in germany and has some numbers etc 105980. Got a neat floating diamond at top.

I have everything, the outer box, the main box, inside padding, certificate and writing instruction manual.

Not a pen guy here so trying to gauge value. I see them on certain websites for 2k? and the seem some on ebay with no boxes and heavily used time to time for less then a grand.

This has no scratches or other. Any advise would be great. Also, if I sell do I list it here in pen forum or other?

Strange question, could the pen raise in value? Should I just stick it in safety security box and forget about it and leave to my son? Not thinking it will every be a holy grail here, just curious if in 10-20 years could be something neat to pass along.

Thanks for your wisdom and input...

Steve

Yup. The value is that which it brings. The best gauge is to look at eBay sold auctions and pick a median number.

Fountain pens make lousy investments, particularly the really common ones where brazillions of them were made like yours.
