There is an article here on the PAM 00210, that also makes reference to the PAM 00021. In case you might be interested.

Well, there is a way to have one at a fraction of the price. Buy a 210 or a 232. Then look around and find a old vintage Rolex pocket watch (which can be found for around a couple thousand dollars). Then finds a competent watch maker and have him swap out the Unitas watch movement in the 232/210 and install the movement from the Rolex watch. Basically the same thing, minus the platinum case, for around $12,000-$15,000 compared to the $100,000 the PAM 21s are going for. Be a great watch project!

While your picking one of those up, might as well have them throw in a 203 to sweeten the deal

Another option is to buy a 210 and have a watchmaker install the gold hands, thats used on a 190 or 232.

This grail watch, the 203, is my sore spot with Panerai right now.
Long story short, I was basically promised one by the North American rep. Then he backed down, had to go through the Boutique. Of course the boutique doesn't know me, so no 203.
Have not bought a Panerai since this episode.

Well, the 203 is a nice watch, have tried on e on the wrist that another forum member owns, to me it is not worth the money. Nice watch, but you would never hardly want to wear it, since it is over $100,000. the only part about owning one would have been if you could have gotten one from the beginning as an investment, and now sold it and gotten 3x your money back, or keep even longer and hoep the ceiling as not been reached. As for the movement inside the 203, have heard nothing but negative things about the movement, as it is considered actually a ver finicky and fragile movement. With the caliber p.2002 movements, (and JLC with their 8 day movements), Panerai tried to correct some of these past issues and create a rugged and reliable 8 day movement.

I agree Chad, for the going rate on a 203,it cannot be considered a mere watch anymore. Its an investment, especially for those that were fortuanate to get one when launched. That also explains the bitterness of those that did not get one at the time.Supply and demand. There is only a few in the world and if you want one its going to cost you bigtime !! Luckily I am fortuanate not to be in that league and am quite happy just to look at the pictures of the 203 !!!

Despite economic downturn worldwide the luxury watch market is still booming.

Well, if one had a 203, I think they would be wise to sell it now and take the money and make other investments. I do not see the current market price of the 203 going up double the value, it has pretty much reached the ceiling. If I had a 203, I would sell and put it into a S&P Index Fund. Even with market fluctuations, that $100,00 would probably be worth $800,000 in 20 years, which I doubt a 203 will even sell for 1/4 of that in 20 years.

Of course if one is a serious collector of Panerai/Watches, and they do not need the funds (as probably at least half of the 203 owners are) then they will not sell and will keep in a safe as part of their collection. And of course the 203 is a great watch, but if I had my choice between a 21 and 203, I would take the 21 as their is something unique about the history shared between Rolex and Panerai.

That is definitely not good, and I cannot begin to understand how you might feel.
