bought the deep sea as my first rolex and after a week of wearing it , really don't understand all of the moaning from others its a beast of a watch but as long as you are not Mr Magoo you should be able to get through your day without hitting everything in sight!

My first and last Rolex. I wear it with anything and everything, regardless of the occasion. My 20 month old son has no idea how amazing a "chunk" of his inheritance will be........although he does stare at it like I did when I first saw it.

Well I haven't worn my DSSD since I got my Sub C. After reading the posts on here Im going to wear it tomorrow. I wore this watch daily for 3 years. It was one of the first DSSDs made. I even got the comment right after I gt it "wow that's a really high quality fake Rolex but you should've got a sub because everyone will know that's fake because the deep sea hasn't been released yet.". I just said ok and walked off. Im not going to complain about it on an owners thread but why did Rolex have to put all that writing crap on it??? It was my first new Rolex and I love that watch but sine I got the Sub its got 0 love. I'll change that tomorrow.

Who knows why they put all that stuff on there but it actually doesn't scream out that badly when I wear mine

Good that you are trying the beast on again - who knows, maybe it will be part of your rotation!

I love that watch but I guess I just needed a break. Nothing bothered me about it until about 6 months ago. I busted the bezel and after I got it back (after a very large bill) I felt the need for another watch. I'm a pretty big guy with 7.5 inch wrists so the size wasn't an issue. Who knows maybe after I wear it again I won't wear the sub c for a while. I will say that when I walked out of the store with the sub I wasn't nearly as happy as when I walked out with the DSSD but I figure that was just because that was the first Rolex I got at an AD.

How did you break the bezel? That's scary.

Don't be scared. It's not easy to do I'm I'm the only person I kno to break a ceramic bezel that wasn't trying to take it off or put it back on. I was installing headers on my corvette and the wrench slipped off one of the manifold bolts and my watch smashed into the engine block (I think). I really dont know what it hit but it was hard. I never took the watch off unless I was showering or sleeping. I wouldn't work on your car wearing a Rolex. Hey maybe I should start a "Can you work on your car while wearing a Rolex) thread. LOL

BTW my DSSD change date between 10 to 20 sec after 00h03 or 00h04, what about yours?

I love to stay awake and watch the change of date, don't you?

"Im not going to complain about it on an owners thread but why did Rolex have to put all that writing crap on it???"

I don't know why all the chatter about the writing. I think the black writing on the stainless steel ring tie the watch together, like a Brioni suit with the perfect tie, pun intended!!

I do like your choice in vehicles, however I am lucky enough to live less than 5 miles from B & B Fabrication, and let them put on the LT headers, no cracked bezel! You probably spent more on the bezel than you would have with the install by a shop

I hope you feel the love for ther beast again!!!!
