Quite astonishing. I hope that Rolex will send new shipments soon.

Pretty sad...it’s silly and I don’t get it. But hey Rolex can do no wrong.

Dealers have them, they just aren’t putting them out in the case for the everyday Joe. Spoke to my AD today to follow up on a piece I have on order and I asked him what sport models were available now. He said in the safe he has 116610LN, 116622 rhodium, 114060, 116660 James Cameron, BLNR, 116710 LN, 116613LB.
This one holds them for their repeat customers. He said they would rather sell them to repeat customers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don’t blame the AD at all for looking after their regular customers. Nothing wrong with selling to the greys as it is market demand and a chance to move slow sellers. But its nice to see ADs still having some “heart”. |

Agreed.
I’d look after the guy who spends 100k annually as oppose to guy who spends 10k and gonna flip it for a $300 profit. They can sell those watches anytime anywhere. A perk for being loyal to a dealer and a dealer being loyal to their customer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I suspect the Rolex shortage has been good for other brands. Maybe Rolex is trying to benevolently support the other industry players by drawing down supply. Lol

I asked about an SD43 at a local AD and they said "you'll have to buy something else from us first." |

I was at a local AD and all they had was two PM used Daytonas, TT Submariner (Bluesy), Cellini, and Yachmaster. I hope the New Year brings a better inventory haha

That photo can easily be of the beginning of the day getting the show case ready or the end of the day putting everything up.
That could be an inventory sheet. I don’t buy that photo as a normal display. That would turn off anybody from ever coming back there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's crazy... these past two weeks I was in London, Florence, NYC and Zurich. Not a single desirable SS in stock.

This could be a thread on its own , thinking if everyone went to their local AD & took a picture of exactly what's available new on display & posted it . Would be interesting to see what's actually out there today & available .

Having no stainless sport watches is a hell of a lot different then having no watches at all.

I'm surprised by what I'm reading and now seeing. When I went into my local AD back in October to look for my first Rolex they had a good selection from what I knew at the time. I looked at a sub date and without. Several datejust 36 to 41 the 114300 OP which I bought but also looked at a yatchmaster and a Daytona. That was my first time in a rolex shop. There were no empty cases. Not sure what I would have thought had I saw that.

Sad tale - the Seattle Ben Bridge has no Rolex sports models left because they were victims of a smash and grab right before Christmas. The thieves got away with a lot of nice pieces, including a gold Yacht Master II. Happened right in front of the staff.

Exactly my thoughts. I don't buy that picture: It's the end of the day or the beginning of the business day before they took out all the watches from the safe and put them in display.
