New Omega Speedy Pro Moonwatch

I had sold my 8500 Planet Ocean to help fund my new SubC 116610, and recently got the itch to add a new Omega to my small collection. Received watch yesterday, purchased via Alux Watches on Chrono24 - includes both warranty cards, which was important to me.

Anyway, I notice the second hand on the chronograph is not resetting to 12 on the dial. I assume this is not acceptable? Wondering why my best course of action is.

See attached photo. Bit disappointing as the Planet Ocean was flawless.

Just an update - I've been letting the chrono run, and upon this last reset - it's even further off of 12. Not terribly pleased with this watch, see attached photo.

I would call Alux and exchange it.

My speedy pro had the bezel insert a little off. I could not really notice it with my bad eyes but when wearing my readers, it was totally noticeable. I purchased mine from a out of state AD that I usually purchase my IWC’s from.

I just took it to my local boutique and they sent it to omega. It came back a couple weeks later perfect. Omega include a great omega travel case with it and a few other little goodies. I was pretty happy with omega’s after sale service.

I totally agree!!

Most, if not all luxury watch brands will take care of you. They want you to know your buying luxury and not crap.

Yes that is off centered and needs to be reset by a watchmaker.

it should be perfectly vertical on reset. And if its inconsistent when reset .. maybe the hand is loose on the movement. Definitely needs to be repaired .. that would drive me nuts. Did you see a picture of watch? Where was hand in picture? That could be a sign it was dropped.

Hey all,

Alux was kind enough to send me another he has on hand, and this one is going back tomorrow. Awesome of him, as I'd taken most of the stickers off and sized it prior to using the chrono a few times. Lesson learned! So an excellent outcome, and hoping the new Speedy is 100%

Agree. Omega after care is second to none. I bought a Speedy second hand off eBay and after about a year the chrono reset button stopped working. I took it back to a local boutique and they did a full service for free even though it was out of warranty and I told them that I’d bought it second hand. Can’t argue with that!

The flip side is I sometimes wonder whether modern Omegas develop more faults to begin with in the first place? How many Daytonas go wrong in the first two and a half years?

I would send it in ASAP. I don’t know about you but I use my chronos to time things for my work all the time and I depend on accuracy.
