Thoughts on Nomos?

I have an Orion 35mm manual wind which I really like; love the way the blue hands catch the light.

I agree the subdial looks a bit off if you go for the 38 and then don't put a date in the space.

Love Nomos in theory but they underwhelm in person. I cant really point my finger on what exactly though.

Nomos make some amazing watches, with great movements, at great value. I have considered getting one often. However, I just find the Bauhaus designs a bit mundane for my tastes. While I do prefer simple dial designs, most of their dials are simply not interesting enough. Nevertheless, I do have a high respect for them.

I’m also not a giant fan of bauhaus. But you should look into the weltzeit. Design wise, it’s a slight departure from their typical design language, and it represents great value IMHO.

Thanks. I will take a look. It has been a while since I last did any research on Nomos. It is a shame to overlook anything that might be a possibility from such a great brand.

My brother told me the same when saw one at Tourneau in person, but I think he was was also playing around with a Patek Calatrava a few months prior so iy may certainly influenced his opinion. I love them personally and have owned a Tangente Norma (black PVD case) for a year. I loved the design, finish, and feel of it but I've been lusting after my first Rolex and had to let it go so i can free up some funds. i still miss it though because it was such an understated yet high quality piece

Here’s my Orion De Stijl. It’s got the simple, clean look that Nomos is known for, with a little bit funkier dual. Love this watch.
