The Yachtmaster is the flagship of the Sports line for Rolex - I'd go for the Yachtmaster.

I disagree, I think the Submariner would be a better choice for the flagship.

Would anyone's decision on these two pieces be swayed if a LNIB 16622 was offered for almost half off current list?

Damn straight! That would sway me to the side of the YM in a heartbeat.

Wow! really? Where did you find that? I have a TT Blue Sub and looking for the YM next. Its not even a question. But I'm looking for preowned. Anyway, its form vs function. The GMT has all the new functionality, but (IMHO) the YM looks amazing. Let us know what you decide. |

70% versus 30%. What that tells me is....GET BOTH!
But until the next big birthday hits. I'll celebrate my early 40th with the 16622 YM. When the sunlight hits, I am just mesmorized! Visited the Mall Rolex AD (Ben Bridges) about a month ago, and the friendly salesperson played with my GV while I sampled the GMTii-C. So I concur with everyone that voted for the 116710! That is the next one I promise! thx |

GMT II c is amazing - so much going on so perfectly. I like the YM but I feel it can look a little "flat" at times - no disrespect to any owners, it is truly a beautiful watch - but I'm more of a contrast focused type of guy and the bezel / dial / markers / green hand on the GMT just POP where the YM is a lot of the same color.
Both beautiful for sure! It just depends on your own personal taste - my vote goes towards the GMT baby! |
