Best moonphase under $50,000 ?

Im looking for a perpetual or annual calendar. Out of Patek, ALS, IWC etc whom do you think has the nicest moonphase and which model would you choose for under $50,000?

I think Lange does the nicest Moonphases, personally, I really like the Lange Annual Calendar as well, I prefer the Patek 5146 more though in terms of overall styling and brand, so that's what I went for.

Depends on your circle, I see plenty of Pateks around, and recently quite a few Lange watches as well, if you want something truly rare you need to check out the independent watchmakers, maybe FP Journe or Laurent Ferrier

Grand Lange 1 moon phase is stunning, but it's not an annual calendar. Saxonia AC is nice as well. All of Patek's annual calendars are special but their moon phases aren't as prominent. JLC has a beautiful Duometre moon phase with a special movement too. OR you could go with AP's new perpetual in steel, blue dial, gorgeous moon phase. The moon phase on the 5726 really stands out on the white dial.

I think I would go for the 1815 moonphase. Pretty rare and absolutely beautiful.

For a new watch would have to think some more...

The new AP perpetual Royal oak retails for 60k. If that can be had under 50 it's my vote.

Consider...

The following:

A pre owned Langematik Perpetual - rare but a really nice piece with a 3/4 rotor movement.

A Lange 1 Daymatik - a different calendar

A Lange 1 Moonphase in rg - not an annual calendar but aesthetically a stunning piece

You could also go a little left field and consider a JLC Reverso Annual Calendar in rg.

Personally I wouldn't go for the 5146. A friend had one and within a short while the reaction from him and me was "meh!". It became dull very quickly. He sold it shortly afterwards and bought the Langematik Perpetual.

x2. I recently had the opportunity to handle the SS version with white dial and it's truly remarkable. Although I have not seen it in the flesh, I think I would aim for the blue dial.

Jlc makes a nice perpetual calendar with moonphase in white gold that's pretty sharp, and it's probably half your budget pre owned

Agree with all of the above. I would try to get a pre owned Langematik Perpetual in Pt. The blue moon phase against the Rhodie dial makes it pop.

Blancpain and Berguet do some very elegant Moon phases you should take a look at.

Well I have the chance, or not, depends how you see it to have no high end watches in my circle, for 1,5 years I had 24/7 my Patek 5712 and no one ever noticed I was wearing a Patek…. My choice would clearly be 5712, had the 5726 but calendar is too hard to read at times and I have good eyes, if you want more dressy then Lange...

JLC gets my vote for moonphase by far.

Lange gets my vote when it's in that price range.

Yes, Breguet make some beautiful moon phase and calendar watches but they are a bit more classically designed than the previous watches mentioned. But definitely worth look.

If you really want rare and unique try Sarpaneva.
