1675 from 1967

I bought this watch from a buddy of mine who scored it at an estate sale. Problem was, it had a bad redial. Fortunately I was able to source a luminova service dial and handset from Springer here on TRF (thanks John!). Got the watch back from my watchmaker last week and it's running great.

While I like the patina on the tritium dials, it's nice to be able to read this one in the dark.

Thanks for looking!

Nice!
Again i am happy to see that more and more people also feel good with their old watch even if it is not all original( ofcourse all rolex but not period correct) or when it has some service parts.
Looking in somebody's wallet is always difficult and sometimes original dials/parts just can be found or are ridiculously priced.

Better wear it, than catching dust.

That bezel insert alone makes the watch an absolute stunner

Looks awesome. Gives the watch a more ghost and bright look versus the traditional warm look you see on well patina'd tritium dials.

Now, go all the way and put in a fresh red/blue insert and you'll have a speced, serviced 50 year old 1675 ready for another 50 years of service. An honest watch that's not trying to fool anyone. There are many ways to enjoy vintage. :)

Agreed! I have one on the way from my watchmaker.

Really enjoying it thus far. My only other vintage is a 1986 Sea-Dweller 16660 (birth-year watch), so this is a nice change of pace.

I have my dad's '68. It has a Luimnova dial (albeit one that is marked Swiss-T<25) and hands, because that's what Rolex put on it in the 90s. You have a damned good looking watch, and I'd keep the faded bezel insert on it.

Play by your own rules. Not all vintage have to follow the same rules of insisting on all original parts. Gorgeous watch u have there!

Good for you! And as to the originality, Rolex would be okay with a service dial, is the way I think of it - half my watches have them, they look great

Beautiful 1675. Do you plan on finding a period correct dial at some point? It's a shame to not put that small GMT hand to good use.

Thanks! I'm 50/50 right now. I'm debating on just wearing it with a new insert and selling the old insert and handset...
