I used to be very in to Panerai. Now I am not so much. I currently have no PAMs in the stable and do not see any in the near future. Plenty of reasons for it, but the main one was reissuing of SE/LE. That did it for me. Here are some pics of my personal Panerai journey (10 models). If I were to do it all over again, I'd have stuck with just the 000 only.

Nice journey you had there, I guess your experience with Panerai resembles my relationships with my past girl friends, out of all of them I only would keep one if I had to do it all over again and that one is my wife.

Maybe it's only appears as if it's slowing down as there's more AD's now and a larger number of watches available from Panerai, so they don't sell out as quickly.

Used to be that the max. number was 1000 - 1500 pieces and a handful of watches, but now 2500+ for some models and quite a variety

Nope, the only measurement is how many watches you of a specific brand you sell per week and month.

When it comes to Panerai, I have and love my 121. But I'm not sure anyone else here has one.

You are the only other person I've seen with this watch beside me. I love it! Very unique.

I have lost some interest in the brand overall but still enjoy wearing my 190. Only PAM I have left and probably last one I will own.

Panerai has cooled but far from cold.

I used to be heavy, but have diversified.

6497 are my FAVORITES. 232 is possibly best watch ever for me. (Within reason.....)

hmm....im completely opposite...used to have just Rolex in my collection, but sold them all and now just started my Pam addiction. I had the 005 for a year, then sold it and now have a 390 and have an incoming 111...

Love rages on! I find the Panerai experience (as opposed to other brands) to be very visceral.

that watch/strap combo is pretty much perfection.

so much personality and personalization with panerai.

Thanks Cru! And what about buckles?

I don't know ... I love Rolex and AP as much as the next guy, but nothing gives me as much happiness (and entertainment) as Panerai.

Very nice!

Buckles are actually one thing I've not been "sucked into" yet. I'm loving the strap game too much, but, once the buckle bug hits.... Oh boy.

It has for me. I've owned Panerai for a number of years and was fascinated by the brand. At one point, that was the only brand that I wore.

Now I feel like the models are just too similar and even with the in-house movement, they have become too pricey for what you get.

I like the new 8 day movement models but just not willing to pay the price for a simple dial anymore.

To be fair, I've recently gotten into APs and PPs and while these brands are an even much higher price level, I feel that the money is well spent for the watch you get (in terms of level of finish and detail, craftsmanship, exclusivity, pedigree, etc.)

I won't say never but I have no interest in buying another Panerai at this point.

This is the only PAM I have left. PAM 005 DLC. I didn't want to pay $20K for PAM 195, but an DLC'ed 005 looks the same.

We have twice as many PAMs in our household as Rolexes (or is it Roli) but my interest is starting to shift more towards the Rolex brand. Why? I feel that the prices are a bit out of control for what you get. Example - over $10k retail for a 372 vs under $9k for the BLNR. I get that few would pay retail for the 372 (going rate is $7k), but this is a great example of why PAM pricing is whacked.

I get the LE frustration, but one needs to realize that the entrance fee is purchasing a non-LE at retail price from the boutique (all it takes is one and some regular strap purchases and you will have access to whichever LEs you want). I was offered both the 507 and 532 from multiple boutiques (i only bought one set).

Lastly, i think that Panerai's lineup is getting too big and is very confusing for prospective buyers. They should slim it down a bit or at least develop better visuals that explain the variations between the different watches.

Doh - one more point - Panerai should release their SIHH watches more quickly - it typically isn't until the Fall when the bew watches some out (although this year is an exception). This lessens the buzz in the risti community.

Peace out

I have owned Panerai watches for about 10 years now. I remember when the retailers had only 1 or 2 in stock and you were laughed at when trying to buy the more interesting models.

Today access is easier but I would say we are still doing well with the brand. Every time I bought a Rolex, I got frustrated by how many people owned the same watch in my vicinity. Nothing against sharing, but I like a little bit of individuality.

What is cool in addition is the switching of straps and the various materials they come in. Do that with other brands and they will confiscate your watch figuratively speaking.

Unfortunately, I have sold all but one of my 5+ Panerai pieces.

My sentiments are about the same as everyone else. Reintroducing limited editions over and over, saying we are only making one piece like this, only to see another the next year, and the absurd pricing has driven me away. Sure I do like the watches, the straps, etc. but overall they have not even been close in holding their value.

I do want to get another 249 someday, but realistically, they aren't even worth what people ask for them. When there are how many other models that are almost the exact same piece.

Been a fan of panerai for more than 10 years.. Bought n flip many n I buy at least one piece per year. As soon as I bought my last piece I do mean my last, pam372, I sold my 190 328 000 305 312 n 88... Only a bit regret in the 000 otherwise, I think 372 is all the Pam is need n wanted. It is IMHO that good of a panerai! I not only sold the rest, I even stop buying n I don't even bother to step into the boutique! I just do my window shopping from outside the boutique just in case I miss out on any exceptional pieces. Only other PAM I m interested now is the 382... Yeah in my case, I think 372 is just too good and it stopped hunt for another Pam... hahahaha... I love my 372 to bits! Everytime I put it on, I m in love again! Usually I will wear it couple of weeks straight n that's say a lot about the watch!! ;) .. .. HAGW ahead.. James
