I like the titanium with the carbotech bezel and black dial, but at 15000 its a little steep in my opinion.

I also wonder how durable the new sand blasted titanium is and if it can be repolished

This halo piece is pretty cool, IMHO. Just 5 examples. Made of material recycled from Mike Horn’s boat. Features an arctic exploration with Mike Horn. Obviously for a select clientele who will pay “anything”, I think it’s a fun piece and totally unique to Panerai.

SEE 17 min and 12 sec (17:12), the warranty includes free service :)

How does that 70 year warranty work? Does it cover routine service as needed? Or, do we suppose that to keep the warranty effective, its terms require a factory service every "X" years, at owner expense? If the latter, it's a business model highly biased towards the manufacturer -- a lot like GE with its jet engines.

See video above, sounds like service is included. We're all waiting to see ALL details on the warranty.

I for one love the 1662, but the 15000 price is a little steep considering its a 1312 with the sand blasted titanium. I must say in the video when he gave a wrist shot of the 1663 it looked amazing/badass!!!

You do have to consider it’s not simply a milled titanium case. It’s 3D printed so it is much lighter due to hollow areas inside. This was previously only available on skeletonized tourbillons. Yes it’s expensive, but there is some justification. Frankly they need to make it more clear that it’s not a typical Ti case.

I have to research it. I wonder how scratch resistance this material is?

I agree the blue dial 1663 is the best looking of all the new releases, but I can't see $16,000. That's more than double the 1312.

More than a new CHNR too...

Any idea on the weight difference? Ti is a lightweight alloy so I am wondering just how much of a weight reduction Panerai was able to achieve.

I haven’t seen any specifics. I’ve handled the tourbillons that use the same process and they’re featherweights.

With an emphasis on conservation, the watch’s 50 mm case is made with recycled high-tech steel (what is high-tech steel)from the 35-meter drive shaft of Horn’s sailing ship. Featuring a hand-wound caliber P.2005/T, this Submersible includes a skeletonized titanium movement, light blue details on the dial and a unidirectional EcoTitanium (which I believe is Grade 5 not 2) rotating bezel. Additional features include water-resistance up to 300 meters, a natural rubber strap with brushed steel buckle, and a sapphire glass case back with an engraved sailboat design.

Retailing for $189,000 USD the Submersible EcoPangaea Tourbillon GMT – 50 mm Mike Horn Edition will be available exclusively at Panerai boutiques.

Cool watch, i dont want to spend 189k on a steel watch made out of a drive shaft though

Only about five available per boutique location. So....

Let us know how that works out for you.

When is that coming out? Do you know the price? How long is the warranty?

I love most of the new line. More important I love the direction with higher quality and advanced materials. The classic Luminor lines in a wearable 44mm case with premium high tech materials makes Panerai more relavavant as a brand and image for me. I can buy a SS watch from a anyone as most companies just rehash the same old in SS every year. Panerai will always have solid SS watches but the fact they are not satisfied with that is very appealing to me.

I have wore my Pam 662 Carbotech for almost a year now and I can confirm it is a “next level” material. Lighter, stronger, and doesn’t scratch. I would happily invest in another watch in Carbotech as it gives the premium watch experience a level of durability I can’t get with a metal watch.

Not a mark even when hitting off a bridge pier on a dive.

Great pic! Agree, Panerai is really coming on strong with using advanced material / processes. WOW, that carbon case and bezel looks incredible!

I like some of the carbotech line too. Bringing modern materials into a historic watch design is a good way to modernise without losing touch with their past, but what's up with the pricing?

The pricing gets more ridiculous with every release. In my opinion, the new watches are sub $10k watches, but they're priced at almost twice that.

Thanks for sharing video. Man I like this one, just unsure of the durability of the sand blasted titanium. I wonder if its more scratch resilient.
