Anyone put a Datejust II on a rubber strap?

I have a DJII which I rarely ever use but would never sell as it was a gift. I was thinking a rubber strap might make it more usable for me for when I don't want to wear my main watch. Problem is I'm not sure it would look any good!

So has anyone taken the dive already and tried a DJII (with fluted bezel!) on a rubber strap? Pics would be fantastic.

I wondered the same thing, but a NATO instead.

I could see leather, but it's a little dressy, especially with a fluted bezel, for rubber or nato to me. Just my

Also X2. Rubber or nato would detract from a DJII

Yes it doesn't seem to work too well on a rubber strap does it.

Just need a rubber band watch as I go out on the boat a lot in summer, metal scratches too easy and leather is not good for water. Hence considering a way to make use of this DJII I don't ever really use. But don't think it's an option.

Throw it on a NATO. Lots of options for about $10 on e bay. I spend a lot of time around salt water with my watches...NATO are great. Cheap, and dry quickly

If I was looking for a summertime, saltwater beater, I'd hunt down a Seiko diver like an SKX or even a Swatch. Fraction of what it would cost to polish out the scratches on a nice DJIi; or replace it if a spring bar failed and you lose it overboard. But that's just me

Like the black and black; not so wild about the others on the black strap.

I must say it doesn't work for me. Rubber needs to be on sports model. Just my 2 cents.

DJ and rubber don't mix IMHO.
You might as well go the real sport route and put rubber on Sub

I agree that rubber doesn't look quite right. I was toying with the idea of leather for my white-dialled DJ II, and came across a pic of a similar watch on a tan Hirsch Mariner strap. Looked stunning and that particular strap is treated for water resistance so could be a option? It's available in other colours too, if you wanted black for example.

EDIT: not sure if that link is working so try this. http://www.imgrum.net/media/99790644...6866_344487381

Some custom endlinks + a custom water-resistant leather strap would be more appealing imho.

Example for TT DJII

I totally agree. Leather will keep the watch looking classy. Save the rubber for the sports watches.
