Oyster bracelets with PCLs
Couple questions for those who own watches with PCLs. Are they really major scratch magnets? Do the scratches bother you?

They are not major scratch magnets at all. They will develop swirls overtime - even under a shirt cuff, but its no big deal, and it certainly doesn't bother me.
I bought my watches to enjoy. |

I’ve had the BLNR for about a year and wear it often and don’t baby it. The PCLs have held up better than expected. Short of a few very light swirl marks, no issues whatsoever.
I don’t polish or buff out scratches on any of my watches, as I prefer a natural patina over time, but the yearly cape cod treatment will serve you well. |

First i would like to say that i really love the contrast between the brushed side and the polished center. Then the scratches... Not a problem at all indeed. First you get a scratch, and yeah you see it and not the same way you see it on a brushed finished ( but i won’t say more ) and anyway it reduces itself little by little everyday. To finally obtain a cool hue. I am against polishing and i rather prefer my Oyster bracelets as they are now than when they were new.

The swirls show, but theyre not bothersome. On the right watch I think they look great, new or with swirls.

I wear my BLNR daily and it has accrued a lot of swirls and some scratches. They don’t bother me at all so no cape cod

Thanks all! I was thinking about picking up a DJ 41, but prefer the oyster bracelet and was worried about scratches. Doesn't seem like it should be a major concern.

Don’t let the wear marks bother you. They add character!
However, I could see this being an issue with someone who tends to obsess over minor issues. Get it and enjoy! |

They're fairly easy to scratch but if you take care their shouldn't be an issue.
Mainly swirls/scratches seem to be located on the clasp for obvious reasons. |

The PCLs do attract more scratches than the brushed, but IMHO the PCL looks x10 than the brush and add a whole other element to the watch!

Polished steel is no softer than brushed steel.

The first scratch is annoying, everything after is no big deal. I’m learning not to wipe down PCL or polished sides since it will undoubtedly leave micro scratches. I have the gold pcl on my 116613LB and I just let it ride now.

Daily wear for 1.5 years, the PCLs are holding up fine, no major scratches. The only part that gets really scratched is the clasp, and the link next to where the safety clasp hits when it opens gets some marks. Doesn’t bother me at all.

Agree. Swirl magnet - yes. Scratch magnet - no. I think of the swirls as patina! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If it’s your first pcl and if you’re used to brushed bracelets it might be shocking at first. It took me over a year to finally accept that pcl will scratch and swirl but it’s still one of my favorite bracelet Rolex makes. The contrast of brushed and polished is absolutely worth the scratches. Mine is mostly concentrated to the clasp so overall it still looks new.

IMO they show more than brushed but that is only up close. Not an issue for me personally!

It will get micro scratches easily but it shouldn’t bother you too much as it blends in

Would some of you mind posting pictures of your 'swirled' PCLs? Trying to get a sense of how it would age on a daily wear DJ41.
