2019 - 25th Anniversary and Wife turns 50 - What to get her?

Having just hit the half century mark myself and celebrating it by purchasing a SD50 in Lucca, Italy, I thought I should start researching a Rolex for my wife for her big year next year.

She purchased me a 16710 Pepsi GMT II for our 10 year anniversary back in 2004 and I really liked my first Rolex for a while. However, it always seemed a little small and once I got into Panerais and B&R watches, the GMT lived on the winder. My wife saw several of her friends wearing SS Rolexes and asked if she could wear mine? I liked the idea of the GMT being used, so I had it resized for her and she wears it well. Nice contrast to the Cartier tank watches I have bought her over the years.

I have made some inquiries with her and she has admitted liking the Kermit her friend wears (also downstreamed from her husband) and told me she liked a blue dial OP that we saw in a store in Florence when I was searching for the Seadweller 50. Problem for me is that both seem too similar to the GMT.

Any other good ideas (maybe a yellow gold watch and maybe in a smaller size than the 40MM?)

Appreciate the help!

Todd

How about getting her a DJ36 with fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet in whatever configuration she would like? Or, just get her the Kermit if that's what she really wants.

BTW, is that the stock bezel that originally came on your Pepsi? Mine is about the same year, and my bezel insert is not really faded at all.

Since my wife couldn’t care less about watches - for anniversaries (specifically milestones) she gets diamond upgrades and vacations.

(And she has plenty of my watches to wear)

25yrs, AND 50th...better get the checkbook out!

Cheers!

The bezel is the one that came on the watch. As I mentioned, I only wore it for a few years as I never really loved the size. I was going to get a new bezel, but she likes it and I think the patina is cool.

YG DD36 is classic if she would rock it. Doesn't get much better than that to celebrate two big occasions!

if you can get your hands on it, Daytona, the 40mm size (39mm for the daytona) looks good on her wrist
