Is my Rolex safe near in an F16 Viper?

Not sure if the DJ II is safe here. Looks like rain as well so may need to switch into the G-Shock!!

Wear em in great health guys and gals!

If the pilot took it off your wrist and decided to bolt you'd never catch them!!! I'd say not.

No doubt about that. He's likely faster than me!

I have no clue other than a mean looking military jet called the USAF F-16 Viper demonstration team. Appears to be flying faster than anything Ive seen here at the Vero Beach air show.

"The F-16's official name is "Fighting Falcon", but "Viper" is commonly used by its pilots and crews, due to a perceived resemblance to a viper snake as well as the Colonial Viper starfighter on Battlestar Galactica.[8][9]"

Cool, never heard any crew if pilots call them a viper.
My dad was USAF, used to have the most f16s out here at Lukes AFB, they've been getting phased out though just by casual observation of whats been flying over these days.

Good to know, thanks!

Thank you. Dreamed of it for years and finally got it gifted to me from my wife for our anniversary earlier this year. It goes on many cool adventures with me, just like my bride!

Great pictures.

I was a member of the team that designed, tested, and built the F16. We beat what eventually became the Navy F17 Hornet in a winner take all competition. The F16 was the first fly by wire fighter and we sold a bunch of them worldwide. It was the first plane to be able to fly vertically in a sustained climb. I never heard the F16 referred to as anything other than the Falcon.

I am wearing the same DateJust as in the photo.

A double connection.

My neighbor is a bit of a show off over my home. I took this in my front lawn. He buzzes over often. Apparently the air show comes to me.

The plane in the video looked more like a RAF Tornado to me.

Many moons ago I saw a demo of the F16 ‘Cranked Arrow’ design and was astounded by the maneuverability.

The watch will suffer less than the pilot from the G’s. It’s good to go.

Nice an Albatross. The old man got ride in one of those, described as slightly frightening.

Oh he said it was a kick in the pants. Sadly a month later the ex top gun instructor pilot who was the head of the museum augured it in to the ground trying to perform a photo flight with a Hellcat. Tried to cut the corner to catch up and entered a low altitude stall. These sorts of things wouldn't be exciting if there wasn't real risk involved.

All the guys I know that have flown the F-16 refer to it as the Viper. Luke AFB is the new F-35 training hub and F-16 initial training has largely moved to other bases.

You mean the F18 Hornet. The YF-17 was the basis but not the same bird.

I know a little bit about the Hornet, I flew it over Iraq during Desert Storm

Very cool, as long as he doesn't accidently drop his cargo on your home by accident!
