BLNR or SS Daytona
Hi,
So I already have a Black Sub C 116610LN and love it, I'm after something else so have been contemplating a SS Daytona or BLNR. When I bought my Sub I very nearly wend to the GMT in black but the Sub was what really sang to me so went for that. Now the itch for another has started and I adore both the SS Daytona and the BLNR and I know given the option I'd obviously have both but that's out of my price bracket for now. I know whichever I buy the other will hopefully come along one day but just don't know what to go for now. given that both will probably take a few months to get hold of and will probably need to pre order, I'd love the ability to try them on side by side but don't think I'll get the chance. Not sure if I'd miss the date function if I went for the Daytona and then there's the old dilemma of black or white face too. I tried the BLNR on a few months ago and my other halfs only comment was, "Looks the same as the one you've got" Anyone got both? does the bezel mark easily on the Daytona? It would be worn and not a safe queen, just sharing equal time with my sub. |

BLNR is awesome but very similar to your sub. Daytona would be a great piece to add. My 2 cents.

If you didn't miss the date function you would definitely miss the legibility of the Sub. It's tough to see the time on the Daytona's and the subdials are useless because of their size and the illegibility of the hands. JMO....having owned and flipped one.

I love my Daytona. Super comfortable and I think it looks great.
Seeing and using all functions has not been an issue for me at all.

I've had a SS Daytona with white dial for over a year, and it has pretty much been my daily. I miss the date on occasion, but it's not a big deal.
I don't baby my watches, but I'm not reckless with them. Mine has a few hairline scratches, but no dings or dents. You have to really look close to try and even see them. I'd go Daytona. |

I'm eyeing a Daytona myself. I already own a GMT so the choice would be easy for me. Daytona gets my vote.

Both great watches, but I'd get the Daytona first. You'd get much more diversity. It's a great watch. I've grown to love it much more after owning it.

Daytona gives you a much different look than your Sub. I prefer the BLNR though.

White Daytona for variety and better as a dress watch than your sub.

I was looking at the same two watches when trying to decide. I tried the GMT BLNR on my wrist at two different AD's. It's a very nice watch and my wife said it looked nice and that I should get it. Something about the lure of the SS Daytona was telling me to wait. I made several calls at the AD's in my area and was given the same story about the wait time. I was finally able to find a SS Daytona at an AD 1 month ago, and again wife says it looks really nice and to get it. After having it on my wrist it was easier to make the decision. I went with the SS Daytona with the white dial 116520. I've only had it for 1 month but haven't noticed any problems with the Bezel.
Both are very nice watches and will look great. It would be easier to make the decision if you could try both. When you bought your Sub you said you liked the Sub over the GMT because it really sang to you. I would recommend listening to yourself and giving the SS Daytona a chance to sing before making your decision. |

Daytona.
Not a fan of the maxi-case on the 6 digit GMTs. |

BLNR any day.
The extra color is just incredible. You can never get bored! Put the BLNR on one hand and the daytona on the other, you will be convinced that the more attractive one is the BLNR. That was the case for me at least, and that's how I made up my mind. + The date function for me personally. Not looked back. |

I know you asked BLNR VS Daytona.
I would pick the BLNR personally. HOWEVER. If it were me, I would flip the Sub for a BLNR, and buy the Daytona down the line. You have the best looking Ceramic SS watch, and a Daytona for dressier days and a completely different look. All angles covered and call it a day. DO IT |

All depends on what you're after...a completely different look and function with the Daytona, or a similar look with the rotating ceramic bezel.
But to be honest, you are going about it wrong. Which watch are you head over heels about? Then that's the one you get. |

I have had the SubC date for eighteen months and got the white face daytona 3 weeks ago.......... My life is now complete!
I haven't had any issues reading the daytona (I know some people do) and I haven't missed the date function in the past 3 weeks? No scratches yet but they will come and about -1 second a day. Can't praise the Daytona enough after 3 weeks of ownership. |
