When I saw the release of the blue Pelagos I went crazy! I am for sure going to add this to my collection, I have the black already so am used to the weight and size of it. Don't care how bright everyone keeps saying the blue is, I'm getting it lol. Looks more subdued to me.

Did they give you a delivery date?

No. The saleswoman said she would put my name in the top of her list. Once she got it, she would tell me first.

I like it but would much rather have a vintage snowflake on a nato strap.

I heard it goes more subdued in low lighting, I am hoping it is just loud in the sun like the hulk.

I hope they are wrong! I was thinking for early summer.

I would like one of those as well! Haven't come across one that checks all the boxes for me yet, and prices have really picked up on them. Plus I feel like I don't have an eye for vintage and might buy the wrong piece

I was told July in the U.S., but to Adam's point, but that might just be a different example of making it up in on the fly.

I'm gradually selling off my Rolex collection anyway as it's not getting the wrist time it should. I'll probably end up with my 5513 and three or four Tudors. Will probably take a year or two though.

Just got the black dial....to be honest I am not a "grandfather clock on the wrist" fan at all.....but as has already been said due to its weight it doesn't feel that big somehow....it sounds weird but the time you notice its size is in the dark because of the lume....the thing is like a torch!!!!!.....I have to say, much as I like the blue I still love the uncluttered dial of the black.....

I can't wait to see the blue in person. I'm wondering how long the first arrivals will last once my local AD gets them in...hopefully long enough to take a look!

I used the same words "cheap alternative" to a saleswoman at a Rolex AD who happened to be wearing a Tudor Sub many years ago. I didn't know the rich history of Tudor at the time. Overall it didn't go over so well. But my wife still purchased a diamond watch for her so she really didn't seem to care overall... She changed my thinking to "lesser expensive" as IMHO, they are not a "cheap" brand.

I'd definitely take a blue Pelegos but only if it's not too large or top heavy. Been down that road and the watch paid the ultimate price...

It's a stunning watch, for sure. Whether it ends up in my collection or not remains to be seen...so many choices...

Actually it would be better to describe my original meaning by using "affordable alternative" insead of "cheap alternative". There was nothing disrespect for saying that to the brand. The so-called "cheap" was referred to my personal budget issue only.

I need to see/wear it to make a final decision.

Then I need to hold off for the Tifany version so there is yet ANOTHER line of text; however if they alter the blue to the tiffany blue it could be cool...

But like the black (which I also have not had the chance to ty on) I have to wear it a bit to decide. I do agree it looks quite big. The weight is not a big deal- that's what NATO straps are for... And they include one no?

If it wears 'right' this could be the ultimate daily beater. The one in 20+ years looks great all beat to hell with a chipped crystal. "future vintage".

I love everything about it except the wall of text. That's a deal-breaker for me.

At least if you're sitting bored in a dentist's waiting room and wearing one, you won't have to look for a magazine. You'll always have reading material readily at hand, on your wrist.

I ordered one the morning of Basel and 3 people were already in front of me. That said, needs to get on the wrist before I pull the trigger though.

I really love the watch - except for the 5 lines of text...which are oddly placed in the space below the hands and above the marker at 6:00.

It is on my list, but I will probably pursue other purchases first, and hope that in future model updates it will be a change that Tudor will make.

I'm pretty excited! Already called the AD with my interest. I'll be visiting them next week (they're not local to me). Hope they have some more info. I've been holding off calling.

This bothers me too - there's not enough space between the text and the marker. I'm hoping it looks better IRL.

I don't get all of the negative hype surrounding the text of the new Pelagos dial. It has exactly the same number of words as the dial of the infamous Rolex Submariner (date), the holy grail of dive watches, and one less word than the dial of the Seadweller. I don't hear any complaints about the text on either of those watches.

I get that for some, less is more. I just don't see it as a game changer. The watch is beautiful regardless.

For me it's not the amount of text, it's the placement of it.
That said, I still like that watch very much and I expect it will look just fine IRL.

To each their own. When I look at the watch, the last thing I notice is the text. I suppose I'm just memorized by that beautiful blue dial and subtle design cues that make me reminisce about vintage Tudor subs of years gone by..

The old Tudor models (including Pelagos) never use the text like this brand new version, i.e., so-called 5-liners. It is "promoted" to be the same level as Rolex infamous grail dive watches but the price is just one half of them. The blue one especially has caused a great sensation after 2015 Beselworld and was chosen to be one of top 10 watches issued in 2015 Beselworld by A Blog to Watch. So you guess why all of the negative hype surrounding the text of the new Pelagos dial?
