Rolex milgauss lemon??? Very dissapointed.
Bought brand new from rolex dealer in Doha, Qatar. 2 months of every day use and it has a major movement problem.
It ran out of juice because I didn't wear it all weekend.. So this morning I pick it up, go about my business and about 15 min after wearing it I decide to set the time. Unscrew the crown, pull it out 2 clicks and spin.... Nothing moves.. Kept fiddling with it and now it's in a state of death.. Hand doesn't spin anymore sometimes if I pull the crown out enough I can get the seconds hand to start ticking again. In short, it's really messed up.... For no reason. I did not abuse my $8k watch but it let me down. First rolex purchase and I just hope I get a new watch from them... Do not want this one getting opened up and fixed.... Won't feel the same to me. Any experience with who to talk to? No Rolex dealers unless I drive 2 hours. Thanks for the input. |

"Who to talk to" .. Why, Rolex, of course. Who else can take care of your issue; that is what the warranty is for.
As to "getting a new watch", rubbish !! stuff happens, we hate it when it does, but it does. Likely a pinion gear or the like broke, no big deal. It takes a lot more than that to even get close to the "lemon laws" that consumers want to jump to immediately.. I'll take a fully serviced and hand inspected/re-assembled watch any day over an exchange for an unknown replacement..

I'm not sure that anyone who complains about a mechanical watch running out of "juice" is being totally forthright with us.

Running out of power reserve while not wearing it all weekend is normal.
It is an easy fix with the stem at any RSC. My RSC would repair it while I wait. |

The power reserve only last 48 hours or so. Did you give it 30+ winds with the crown in the first position to give it more "juice"?

Second click? That might be your problem, Milgauss should only pull-out one click...

Off to Rolex it goes! They'll rectify the problem in no time and I'm sure you'll be a happy customer once they look after things for you. It's too bad that things like this happen, but they do. Live with the experience and above all, enjoy your new purchase.

I had my first one break the beginning of the year...annoying yes...but not the end of the world. The movements are a very durable ecosystem but not perfect, Rolex knows that too which is why the warranty. They will make it perfect for you and you probably won't have another problem for the life of the watch.

Thanks for the advice guys, when I said 2 clicks, I meant after the crown unscrews its in "winding mode" and pull out once more its in time setting mode. My frustration comes from the fact that this is a ROLEX, my dream watch... and now it hasn't even lasted 2 months. Never had a problem with a watch in my life.
Only way to fix this is take to Rolex dealer 2 hrs away or can it be done by phone? Cant find phone number to Rolex USA anywhere... thats why I ask. |

Yeah...I wouldn't use the term "lemon" until you figure out what has gone wrong. It's a great watch, keep us posted on the repairs.

breaking the stem of a watch doesnt constitute a lemon. Sounds more like user error if you pull it out to two clicks...

I know that it is no consolation but unfortunately things like this happen. I once bought a new BMW. My dream car, $50,000. The check engine light came on in a week. They fixed the issue and I got 150,000 trouble free miles out of it. Give the watch and RSC a chance to fix it.
