As well as the watch looking a bit dodgy, something doesn't seem right here. Who pawns a solid gold Rolex DD (a gift from dad) at a local diner for $100 then skips town?

Right? DDs we're still a couple grand in the 70's and the scrap was worth more than $100

I thought the same, but then I realised the writing is just a transcript of the accompanying video. In video form, it's a lot more coherent.
