Cellini Time

I've agonised for a while now between a two tone 36mm DJ or a Cellini Time for formal occasions. I'm pretty sure I will go for the latter but I would appreciate comments from you good folk and I'd particularly like to see any wrist shots you have. Thanks.

DJ is obviously much more robust and versatile and can go from mowing the lawn to a tux without blinking an eye, Cellini not so much

Possibly heresy on a Rolex forum but I think there are nicer watches and better value to be found elsewhere if you're looking at a Cellini, such as the JLC Master series and the VC Patrimony. If you're looking to be more parsimonious the Omega De Ville and Globemaster are worth a look.

On that basis if you really want a Rolex I'd go with the DJ.

But of course, whatever makes you happy etc etc.

Did you ever decide? I’m also looking at the Cellini time.

Having tried on a couple of Cellinis, a JLC Reverso and Master models, the watch that I ended up with was a Patek Calatrava 5119-R. It completely outshone the others IMO with a certain classic look that was unique.

This is the only watch I have ever worn which has resulted in comments from non-WIS typres.

Beautiful. Calatrava is tough to beat when it comes to a dress watch.
