Wear it above or below the wrist bone?

Where do you wear your watch, above or below your wrist bone?

I have never worn a watch above the wrist bone as it just feels too snug. However with my SMP it feels loose and heavy down lower on my arm. I am still not happy with the feel.

Currently the band is adjusted to 5 1/2 links on the 6 o'clock side and 7 on the 12 o'clock side. With that adjustment it hangs down on the top of my hand and gets uncomfortable after several hours. Any suggestions? TIA, Bill P.

Bill,

Wear the SMP every day for a week or so until you become accustomed to wearing a real watch.

I wear my watches both above and below the wrist bone depending on the weather and my physical position [i.e. sitting or standing].

I generally wear it so it will not rotate fully around the wrist...it will move back and forth across the top..

If it gets cold and I shrink up a bit, sometimes it will fall past the wrist bone, but generally I wear it snug enough that it stays at the wrist.

I hate it when it gets to digging in the back of the hand, and I also hate the strain when you push yourself up from a chair etc., and it's riding too low... puts a lot of strain on the watch pins....and it hurts...

The comfort fit in the Omega sport watches has always been a trial and error pain in the ..... what many have had to do is get another 1/2 link as two half links are actually a bit bigger than a full link?!? I believe they can be purchased through OTTO FREI online!

Roger, I just called my AD and you are right... two 1/2 links are a bit bigger than one full link. He is going to send me one.

As I said, presently I have 5 1/2 on the 6 side and 7 on the 12 side. When I get the new 1/2 link I will remove the last full link on the 12 side and end up with 6 1/2. Thus I will next try 5 1/2 and 6 1/2. As I wear my watch below the wrist bone it will be just a bit more snug than now, but I hope not too much. Cheers, Bill P.

X2. I like wearing the watch fairly snug. I don't really like it loose enough to hang down over the wrist bone. As somebody else pointed out that inhibits wrist movement -- plus I understand that gravity pulling on a loose watch band stretches the band out. You are better off with slightly snug. My watch is loose enough to move around a bit but not much.

A dress watch on a strap should always be worn above the wrist bone. Casual watches on a bracelet or diver band can be worn wherever.

Not sure I understand the question

Wear mine on the side of the wristbone that is closed to my hand. Loose enough that I can bend my wrist, and it does slip back and forth across it (unfortunately).

right hand, above wrist bone most times - but loose enough for "normal" movement (1/2 finger)

I wear mine above, but sometimes it slips below the wristbone - which is a bit uncomfortable.

above the wrist bone, so that my wrist can function unimpeded as nature intended.

5 1/2 links at 6, and 8 at twelve, all sliding and flopping all over the place. Always have done so. The SMP is so flat in profile it doesn't bother me, now the 'Dweller' needs to be a little tighter as you end up with a great big dent mark in the back of the wrist.

SMP loose but not too loose (just like my wimmin)

Above

Left wrist above the ulna knot and snug. I was told if your wear the watch too lose it causes excessive wear to the links of the watch band due to movement and friction.

Also..depends on the watch for me...DSSD is always a snugger fit...whereas a speedmaster or pepsi is light enough to wear a little looser and so sits above or below as with Dan's reasoning above

Depends

It always depends of two factors: weather and phisical position, and maybe a third one: clothes.

Just below the bone on my left hand. I have very prominent ulna bone, or used to when I could still see my feet

between wrist bone and hand, on the left arm...but fit depends on strap/band material: my leather strap watches are worn tight and have little room for movement, if at all, but the bracelet ones are worn looser, so that they move on the arm a little but cannot rotate on the wrist fully when between wrist bone and hand...dont know if any of that makes sense
