Milgauss Z Blue....days are numbered?

Got the feeling that this reference is going to be discontinued.....anyone have thoughts on this. No direct knowledge btw, just a gut instinct.

I have heard some murmurs of this as well. I am hoping that is the case selfishly!

Pruning options for the lowest selling model surely wouldn’t help sales, so I’d say it wouldn’t make marketing sense...oh wait, we are talking about Rolex, right?

Sure I think it wouldn’t make sense so then the odds are likely true...

Before I became a Rolex owner, the first Rolex that caught my eye was a Milgauss. I liked the black, then I saw the blue and had to have it.

It brought me down a path of endless research, which I concluded my first Rolex must be a Sub. Anyways, I’ve always been intrigued by this particular Milgauss. If they did discontinue it, I’d consider getting one.

I think there is some redundancy inside the simple, three hand model (39 and 40 mm) category. You have the Milgauss, the Explorer and the Oyster Perpetual.
Would make sense to let it sleep for a while....

The black first caught my eye several years ago but just never had the funds or the deep desire to actually buy one.
I saw the blue and pulled the trigger instantly.
I didn't worry how much is was liked/hated by many, I bought it because I like the look.

Say what you want about it, either way, its a beautiful watch that does not appeal to many as not many can pull it off. It is a personal taste thing just like a sub seems worthless to me. Ill never own one. Too boring for me.

I didn't buy it for "investment" if it goes down in value so be it, if it increases due to a discontinuation, so be it. I have and I love it.

It seems I have a knack for liking the less popular models. the next 3 I have my eye on aren't on everyones list either.

Not really a watch that is a compelling purchase option for the non-enthusiast or aspirational Rolex buyer at its price point, so maybe. If so, hopefully Rolex comes back with a re-worked version down the road.

I just bought one because I have always wanted one since seeing that blue dial. I like what I like and not what others opinions are.

I'm not one to do much watch predicting...especially with Rolex.

But it does seem that there are models that they are trying to tweak to pump up their sales; the milguass and explorer come to mind. Now...whether this translates into a perhaps "shortened" life span, is anybody's guess. I would think the explorer is going to hang around pretty much forever, as it's an icon in the line. But the milguass...? Only time will tell.

Milgauss Z Blue....days are numbered?

They discontinued the Milgauss in the 60’s before and didn’t return until 2008. Than one day I saw the Milgauss w/ green glass and black dial and fell in love with it. I said that this is the perfect tool watch for me because I am a technician. The Milgauss is my favorite watch and I am looking to trade my 2001 16610 Submariner w/ original LV dial.

Go price the original 1960’s Milgauss now !!!
