Sub C Power Reserve
HI all, I have noticed my 4 year old Sub C's power reserve is down to about 41 hours. It actually achieved 50 hours when I first bought it. I suspect the watch is a little older than 4 years as the serial dates to around 2011 although I get that is not exact. It was bought new at an AD back in the day when they had several in stock and the 114060 hung around for a while. The good old days!
In any event it is still keeping perfect time, about +1.5 seconds per day. I don't plan to do anything at this point. If it starts keeping time poorly or if I lose a significant amount of power reserve I will send it in. Just curious on other members thoughts here? Cheers.

Not sure what the balance spring has to do with power reserve. Perhaps the main spring weakens over time?

Let it die, then 30-40 winds and set it. See if it improves but I see no need to send it off.

Why would a parachome hairspring have anything to do with watches power reserve. It's the mainspring which has anything to do with power-reserve.And depending on the state of wind on the mainspring power reserve average 40 -48 hours give or take a hour or so.

Just an update as this thread kicked up today. Did a few more tests, with 50 plus winds. 48 hours no problem, I guess when I was winding 40 they weren't full turns. My 2015 Bluesy is still at 49.5 half hours so all good in the Sub camp!
