Does the ss shortage apply to the Milgauss Z-blue?
So I'm thinking about picking up a milgauss z-blue.
I really haven't looked too hard, so far: DavidSW does not have one in stock. So far, 1 AD I visited had the black dial, but no z-blue. Are these rare as any other of the SS models? Or should I be able to find one without any trouble? And to spice things up: |

Did you ask the AD if they could get one? My AD couldn’t say when they would get another GMT or Sub but I’d be surprised if the zblue was truly in limited supply. Selfishly, I was hoping it would be discontinued. Good luck, I’m sure you’ll find one. Can’t go wrong with that gv!

Very nice model to own.
And I even saw one for sale in Oz last month. Both GV and blue dial.

Same here ...the Milgauss was my gateway drug as well. I was on my way to purchase it (he had the white, the black GV and the ZBlue GV ...I was there to select between the Black and ZBlue) when the AD decided to show me the rest of his SS collection - Sub (preferred the Milgauss), Sub Date (preferred the Milgauss), GMT LN (preferred the Milgauss), and then he pulled out a BLNR (at which point my will broke ...)
This was literally a month or so before the apparently global shortage of SS models hit ADs in Africa. Now, whether it is Nairobi or Johannesburg, SS Rolex references are simply unavailable. |

From what I have seen in Australia the shortage applies to ALL Rolex's. Doesnt matter what model.
Even the DD40 was running low on stock. Usually that is not the case as there is not many ppl that will buy at this price point. Only the ones with diamond bezels etc...were left. |

They're around. A little bit of searching should get you one.

Not really, but who cares? I have a feeling time will be good to the Milgauss. I'd personally rather have a z-blue than some of the "in demand" watches like the Hulk.

It's not at every AD in my area but it's not hard to find. Call around and you'll find it and better yet you can always get one used for a nice discount.

The Milgauss doesn't get the love other models do. As a result, there are very few first time buyers looking to pick up a Milgauss. It's usually a collector's piece which is a smaller portion the market. Ironically, the Milgauss is one of the last few stainless steel models I am interesting in re-adding to my collection (sold mine a few years ago).
If you look around enough you'll find one pretty easily. Snatch it up once you do. |

I'm still on the fence.
I've just strolled into one AD and that's about it. Gotta narrow it down further between the milgauss, GS snowflake spring drive, or picking up the bluesy again. I'm still trying to figure out if I even want another piece, but the z-blue has always caught my attention, it was just by chance that I put on the black dial version and that got me thinking again. |

I've seen the Z-Blue consistently in-stock at various ADs in LA that I've visited the past few months.
