I would sell it and pick up the newer version later, when and if you start missing it. The newer better movement and band.

If I really needed the money, then of course but if not then no. I would have gotten this watch over the SD43 if I could deal with the size as a daily wear. You seem to have no qualms so why get rid of such a beautiful watch?

You do have a Hulk though... You are in a lucky situation because if you do sell you could always remedy the potential mistake by buying the newer version in the future which seems to fix many of the "problems" of the first model.

I don't like the "original escape valvle" or whatever it says on the Deep Sea. It would annoy me to the point of needing to sell it asap

Out of all the current Rolex lineup and my 8 rolex, the JC is by far my absolute favorite! I think you will regret it if you sell that beauty!

I'd say sell the DBlue and use the money for your other goals. Like you said, you can always get the 126660 in future and it will come with the improved bracelet and new movement.

If you sell it now thinking you can make some profit, you probably won't right now. Sell it if you need the cash now for something.

If you honestly like the new version more, then sell it. At worse, you'll use the funds you made and save up a bit and buy the new one which is the better watch.

If you love the current version, then I would keep it.

You'll truly realize how much you like a watch once you sell it. Once I sold my Planet Ocean XL (2500 version), I realized that it was a great decision to do so. The watch was too big and I didn't want to constantly question its size. A 42mm version would be nice but there is no point as I like my SD43 head over shoulders over the PO and same goes for my Speedy.

You may have the opposite reaction, then you can always get the updated version or at worst pay a bit more than you sold it for to rebuy your old model. I adore the James Cameron personally. In fact, it might be my favorite watch but the size just didn't work for me sadly. I couldn't justify buying a Rolex that I would only wear occasionally. Maybe in the future but that's a ways off I think.

Update - Going to keep the watch for now and just try and hustle a little harder to get saving.

Thanks for the advice

I didn't buy this for any special reason, except I wanted it. I have other nice dive watches. (Hulk, Superocean) Since the 116660 D-Blue was only a three year run, will it be dumb to let it go?? I could always replace later with a 126660 D-Blue? Just looking for thoughts if this would be something I regret. FYI I've never sold a watch before, so just a little gun shy.

Pics for science.

Oh man... this is Sophie’s Choice. I have both and I couldn’t decide. Don’t you have a kid or wife to sell?

I’d sell it as I don’t really care for that model. The hulk is the keeper imho. But it’s your wrist! Trust me I get the feeling, that’s why my numbers are constantly changing. That new bracelet is a huge improvement.

Two Rolexes are a bit excessive if you're still chasing other goals

Don't know enough about the Hulk, but your DBlue having a limited run, and with now continuing production and a wider bracelet would see the original maintaining value for many years to come

Plus you get the enjoyment of wearing the watch - do you prefer to wear the Hulk or DBlue?

I was umming and ahhing about selling my DBlue, am #3 on list for the new one, but will more than likely keep the original
