yeah it happened to me when I purchased my PAM. I bought it because I thought one must have a PAM in your collection. It was on my collection for almost 10years, seldom used, so finally I sold it.

Thanks! I coveted this watch since 1984 when I saw it on Magnum PI. I didn’t pull the trigger on it for 30 years, making excuses like “Rolex watches are overpriced” and “I’m an Omega Seamaster guy. Gotta have a dive watch.” And “40mm is too puny for my wrists. It’ll look like a nickel strapped to my arm.” Lust trumped excuse #1 and I bought the DSSD. And the rest, as they say, is history. :)

Agreed.

I felt buyers remorse due to $ on first watch. Got over it quick.

Rush purchased aqua terra. Never wore it. Sold 2 months later

I've had "non-buyer's" remorse. Twice, though I didn't realize it until a time later.

First was when I was in college, and just getting into watches. A jeweler in my hometown had a still-new Omega Dynamic in the case, a watch which had gone out of production several years earlier. Probably could have gotten a significant discount off of the $900 MSRP (yea, that's right, Omegas retailing for under a grand 15 years ago).

Second was soon after I discovered this forum, and had bought my 16570. A member posted pics of a NOS Air King (old, old style with sharp lugs, hollow center links and no COSC) and mentioned that it was one of a few the dealer had.

Wish I'd pursued one of those at the time, but felt greedy doing two Rolexes back to back (when buying out of savings, not income).

Part of me also wonders if I would have preferred the Exp. I 36mm prior to discontinuation. But that would have been instead of my 16570, and I don't know that I'd have made that decision in retrospect.

The only watch I've ever had buyer's remorse over was a bright orange titanium Seiko Samurai. It was just too loud and I sold it a couple years later at a profit because I only wore it when I wore an orange polo shirt.

I bought my Sea Dweller 116600 from an internet reseller, and several things about the transaction turned me off a bit, but the worst was that it didn’t come with all the links so it very tightly fit my 7 3/4 wrist with the Glidelock fully extended, and only comfortably fit when the wetsuit extender was open and the glidelock was fully closed. I was so pissed off, I didn’t open the box for another two days feeling ripped off and stupid as hell.

So that weekend I went to the AD and had them order me two links. Wore the watch while I was waiting for the call and fell back in love with it. Once the links were installed all my remorse was gone.

This is true, I probably have owned 20 watches and my only regret is I can’t afford more Rolexes, only 4 rolexes have I purchased. I sold one Rolex and have no regrets.

I need a TAG so bad it hurts, aqauracer here I come, always liked the super loud automatic rotor they have inside. The watch always sounds broken

Bought and sold two subs many years ago, because it was the" watch to have".
Tried it once, sold it, got convinced by hype that I made a mistake, re-bought it ....sold it again.

I agree with this and would add that because a Rolex is a luxury purchase for me, I’m forced to lust after a model for months or even years, so when I can pull the trigger I remain thrilled.

My latest in this fun obsession is a Rhodium YM made possible only because it was pre loved (for a few months...buyer’s remorse? : ) from DavidSW. I’ve sent David texts about how thrilled I remain.

Perhaps, if it’s easy for you to buy (a good thing!), you should make yourself wait six months or a year before pulling the trigger. After so much ruminating, you’ll be assured that you’ll be thrilled for the long haul.

And, if you’re not, at least Rolex is likely the most liquid in the used watch space.

I have never had buyers remorse. But I do currently feel a bit guilty. My lovely wife bought me the sea-dweller 43 at the beginning of the month for my birthday and I really love it. But being a natural provider it is a bit alien to me to receive lavish gifts. I’m usually the one giving the gifts, and even though I REALLY wanted and REALLY love this watch in the recesses of my mind I can’t help but feel that the money should have been used elsewhere or on the kids. That being said, it’s staying firmly on my wrist

Yes, bought a Rolex recently and regretted it once I saw the amount posted on my credit card. I always wanted a Daytona, so be careful what you wish for.

Yes. I bought a 114060 and felt I needed the date function. Remedied that with a 116610.

The 2000 series being similar to a platinum dial Yacht-Master is the same as a Submariner is similar to a 1000 series. Or an Aqua Racer. I don't get this Yacht-Master Tag thing.

I bought a Tag once and realized it looked too much like my Rolex so I got rid of it.

I still have buyers remorse after purchasing my Explorer II "Black Dial" 3 years ago but still wear it as a daily. I wish I would have purchased the Polar Dial. Here it is next to my Gold GMT.

Yes. Looked at the Rhodium DJ41 for months before pulling the trigger. Loved it in pics and in person. Once I put it on I was bored with it in about a week. Took a nice bath on that one.

Great advice!

Everyone for the most part gets buyers remorse on big purchases. I've gotten it on all my watches and my last couple cars. This is why I encourage everyone who gets a watch home, tries is on and starts thinking they made a mistake to give it a month or two before doing something you might regret.

The only remorse I feel is thinking about all those 16710's that were for sale back in the day in the high 3k-low 4k range that I didn't buy.

Have you too ?
Or your Tag was too similar to your Rolex. Tag has a tendency to rip off Rolex design

only because I feel like a could have spend 8200 on something more important like stocks, or save up for another rental property. I love my explorer ii 42 but it was not my grail - the sub no date is but felt the 40 mm was to small.
