tudor 7928 shield dial is this legit or service insert?

hi everyone,

i have a seller trying to sell me 7928 shield dial 390movement, that is in the series of 59xxxx..its a reputable brick and mortar seller that i had knew for years from his private collections..i wonder should i pull the trigger, thats why im searching for answers/imformations online for this particular shield dial.

Though others might disagree, but as far as I know, all original 7928 came with a rose dial. Ever 7016/0 came with Rose dial, then switched to shield. As such, what you have is at best a service dial.

My 7928 is a 45XXXX and its a 2nd quarter of '62. It is a gilt chapter ring. My guess is that is a service dial because that serial is probably '63ish by guessing.

Sthat is a long 5 insert and it’s an expensive part. The dial looks good to me.

Good Morning, Generally the reference number is between the lugs. I am suspect of the reference location ;)
