Congrats in advance, BLNR is a georgious watch, you will be very happy! I absolutely love mine, I enjoyed my EXP!!, but the color from the BLNR has been a refreshing change. I don't ever see myself getting rid of this watch!

BLNR will be an excellent first and goes with just about any attire. My suggestion is save up and get the brushed bracelet with glidelock (ref 97200). I feel the brushed bracelet goes with everyday wear and is so comfortable. The rubber bracelet in the meantime is comfortable and looks great on the BLNR.
Congrats and post a pic when you get it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I am over the moon with it Wobbly.
Now I just need something to match it on my right wrist. White gold bracelet perhaps hmmm! I would love a Cartier bangle but I have promise myself to behave for a few months at least. |

In similar boat (including making the girlfriend happy ha!) and am 25
I decided to go with the SubC date. Such a classic watch that can be worn with anything and anywhere. I don’t regret it one bit! My other option was a Rhodium YM II Can totally see getting the BLNR though! |

I’m going to Rome in June and I must admit I have seriously been considering picking up a sub no date as I love the classic and symmetrical look. A Datejust is also on my list as it’s a bit of a dressier watch and I’m in suits most of the day with Work. Congratulations on owning a Rolex at 25. Two years ago I had a gambling problem and was heading down a slippery slope I never thought I would be in this position I am now. Life is a rollercoaster and this watch is my reminder that if you don’t waste money you can have something to show for it. It’s also my 24 month “sober” timepiece lol. |

Congrats on the 1st rolex! Wait till you see the price of BLNR slowly go up (not guaranteed but more than likely) and your addiction for more rolex will drive you up the wall!

@Zakual -- You mentioned stories behind our first Rolex purchase so here's mine. First off, I went with the BLNR after looking at other options. Like you, my budget wasn't quite as high for this piece but almost a year later I wouldn't trade it for anything. Get it and don't think twice.
I decided to get my watch as a professional milestone (because I finally could afford it). I also pulled the trigger at the time I did because it was my first father's day. It definitely has a little more meaning to me because of this. Congrats. Enjoy it and wear the sh*t out of it! |

Great choice on the BLNR! I love mine as much today as when I first bought it three years ago.

Both great watches. I have one of each. You’ll love the BLNR. I also love the simplicity of the Sub. Welcome to the world of Rolex. I did the rubber strap thing for a while, but ended up buying a second bracelet for my Sub and put it on the BLNR. Love the glidelock feature. Enjoy!

I bought my first piece brand new and I have to say I think it’s worth it especially for your first one! Definitely adds to the whole buying experience IMO!

I currently have both the 114060 & 116710 BLNR and you really cannot go wrong with either. The Sub gets more wrist time but that is due to my work rather than liking it more than the BLNR. If you can track one down at RRP you'll never lose. Enjoy the hunt and the watch when you get it/

To echo petehk's comments, I bought my first Rolex (at 32 - that was 16 years ago) and I was debating between the 16710 GMT II and the Sub. At the time, the GMT was the less expensive watch and I ended up going with that primarily for financial reasons since they both sang to me. I paid $3,500 for the 16710 BNIB from a grey dealer and the prices have really skyrocketed and seem like they'll continue to go up. I actually considered flipping it a few times over the years when it wasn't getting as much wrist time after I bought new pieces but I resisted and am really glad that I didn't. I have since added the SubC and now both of these watches get the most wrist time from Casual Friday - Sunday. Whatever you do, hang on to it. It is definitely a keeper for the long term. Enjoy your wonderful watch and we look forward to seeing lots of cool wrist shots from you.
