How would you perfect your favorite Rolex (not that anyone is listening"

In sort of a reverse of what Rolex do you least like, I'll turn it around and ask, "if you could do something to perfect your favorite Rolex, what would you do." Of course, Rolex is unlikely to take action but it is an interesting excercise. I'll go first with the three I own.

GMTIIc
- Offer a white dial. Much easier for me to read.
- Increase diameter to 43mm - Again a readability thing
- Offer the jubilee bracelet (done on mine)
- Increase the power reserve to 72 hrs.

So why not get an explorer? I using the rotating bezel for timezones and timing. The explorer doesn't have a rotatable bezel. I use the multi time zone function every week. An aside, GMT stands for greenwich mean time or Zulu time. It doesn't have DST. That is where I keep my 24 hand as intended. I know that most buy the watch for the general aesthetics rather than the function.

DJII
- I like this nearly as is. I know the MOP dial with diamonds is not popular with many but I like mine. Only change I might make is to add the perpetual calendar like in the SD.

Which brings us to the SD. Mine is SS with white dial. Currently my favorite of the bunch. However, there are changes, if available, I would flip for. Note that I do travel weekly and the dual time zone is useful for me.

SD
- Add a jubilee option. Hopefully someone will figure this out for the current model.
- Close in that 24 hour dial so that only 3 hrs show in that window.
- Make available all the faces of the DJII line. Of course if I could get it in the MOP face, it would sell the DJII
- Best of all, drop the 24 hr dial and go with two hour hands like the PP 5164. The crown mechanism should make this straight forward. I am not getting the PP 5164 because is has a rubber band on a $40K watch. And it does not have the Rolex Oyster heritage
- If those changes were available, I'd buy in solid platinum and drop any desire for the DD

Let's hear your thoughts on your favorites.

To perfect my favourite Rolex? Be able to purchase it from an AD at RRP.

Add lugholes to every and any watch.

And typically I do not mind if a watch is thinner.

But then again a submariner 14060m is pretty much perfect as is.

Make everything (even the SS Daytona) readily available at ADs!

But in all seriousness:

GMT II - Brushed bracelet with Glidelock & 72 hour power reserve
Sub - 72 hour power reserve & Oysterflex availability
Explorer I - 72 hour power reserve

Sub Date with 32xx movement, slightly more narrow lugs and a better tapered bracelet (a 1mm increase would be a bonus). I would buy that yesterday, even for a 10-15% price increase.

I don't need perfection. Sure, if I was custom building a watch I would probably do things a little differently... But sometimes its the idiosyncrasies that make things unique!

I was lucky enough to be able to order my Daytona exactly as I wanted it. Even if I could make a change, there is absolutely nothing I want changed.

I would shorten the hands and eliminate the lumed 3-6-9 numbers for white gold 3-6-9 numbers on the Explorer Mk2.

Rhodium index dial for Datejust 116234 and Jubileè band with WG center links, besides WG crown. Options of interesting complications in Datejust size and style.

the above....plus....

Love to see glidelock clasp on the GMT IIC

My personal wish is for a LVNR option (50% green bezel would be classy yet muted)

Lighter... I love the ceramic watches I have, but they are heavy and I often find myself going back to a 5 digit watch. My first ceramic was a sub, and I ended up selling it because I found it to be so uncomfortable (didn't like the maxi case as far as comfort, I do like it design wise)... My fav ceramic is the sd4k, heavy but very well balance and like the fact that the case isn't the maxi. Anyways light would be nice.

I don't own a Tudor (yet) but got to wear a friend's for a week and found it to be very pleasant just the right balance between "beefy but not to heavy). Just a very good balance.

GMT with glidelock. ...though I've lived just fine for the last 8yrs with the fliplock clasp.

I would have wanted further mods to either the Sub or Sea Dweller, but then the SD43 came out, and that thing is just diver perfection to me.

Explorer I - Glidelock without increasing current clasp size; drilled lugs

Explorer II - Shrink the current version to 40mm

Sub ND - Go back to the 5-digit case and dump the ceramic bezel insert
