looks excellent (and much better than APs stock pictures).

I love the size. My 44 fits me ok, but it feels big. I have a couple of 42 ROO and I love them, but they seem to tall for the width. This is a perfect blend between the two. The proportions of seem to be better, and I feel it fits me really well.

The dial is downright amazing on this one. The smoked taupe is very dynamic depending on lighting. In some conditions it just glows! I am surprised at how bright the white gold markers are. Pictures don’t do this justice. I could do without the date, but it’s so unobtrusive on this dial, I don’t mind at all.

The new strap quick disconnect is pretty cool. I am a little nervous about it not being as secure, but that’s probably just me being paranoid. The taupe color doesn’t lend itself to a lot of strap options, but I really like changing straps a lot, so this is a big plus long term for the whole lineup.

I realize this is a minor detail, but I really like the new buckle. The ends are beveled ever so slightly. I used to notice the sharp edges on the buckle, but those are gone. It still looks beefy and masculine, but this is a better design.

Some pics!

See what I mean about the dial?

The new buckle.
Thanks for sharing and congratulations!

Checked out all except the grey dial 43 yesterday.

The RG is a beauty but the smoked dial / taupe is the pick of the lot IMO. It’s a beautiful dial which has so much depth as compared to the others. Looks brilliant in the sunlight. The black strap may look even better than the one which comes installed.

Very tempted.

Wow...thought these were coming out in Sept. Congrats!

Wish they have an all-ceramic 43.

Indeed. Perhaps they caught up after the pandemic production delays last year.

So... No excuses, AP. Get things cranking out, please! You're leaving far too much money on the table.

Just visited the boutique here in HK and tried the smoked dial iteration:
Unfortunately I was not allowed to remove the plastic protector.
The thickness however is something I have to get used to.

Next to my 15500

I put the grey dial/grey bezel on my wishlist - but so far haven't seen a single real-life photo. If anyone is able to snap one, please post!

SA tells me it’s very similar to the 44mm titanium grey dial and blue subdial version.

The ‘watch condom’ sure is irritating. Tough to see with that thick plastic on.

When AP makes another forged carbon offshore I'll sell my ROO to get one.

So far the only ROO I like is the new tourbillon one. Alas it has to be over 200k......

I'm not sure why that one is more expensive than the concept black panther. That is ridiculous to me.

It’s inevitable that they’ll release one. Definitely within the next 2 years

It’s because it’s a Tourbillon Chrono whereas the BP Concept was only a Tourbillon. AP time only tourbs usually run between 150-200 depending on the model and materials, whereas Tourbillon Chronos always 250+

100 vs 250 pieces, flyback chrono vs time only. Still much cheaper than Concept flyback chrono (26587TI). Black Panther maybe somewhat underpriced

Edit: Ah, too slow, Reign already cleared that up...

Either way it's going to sell for below 200k second hand....

The fumed dial is getting a lot of attention.. But it’s the titanium bezel 26420ti which really speaks to me. Decided and put down my deposit. Now it’s just one call away …

I’d go so far as to say that 99% of the members on this forum who’ve been posting here for 5 years or more buy watches for the enjoyment of the watch, not because they see it as an investment.

This ^^^

I’ve always noticed with this sub section of the forum how in the main it’s all about AP and the watches themselves, not prices.

On many watch forums and especially Rolex FB pages the majority of questions seem to be ‘what’s the best watch investment?’ or the even worse question of ‘should I buy this watch?’ Frustrating how the watch market has gone.

I’ve seen a few of the above light brown/smoked dials on various forums now but not seen a blue, grey or black dial. Has anyone got one yet?

I haven't seen any of them IRL yet but it's nice that the existing colour schemes are being delivered earlier than the estimated September delivery date.

Supposedly there should be a 'Be Yourself' release from June/July, so that may shake things up a bit too, perhaps with some more vibrant colours. If that happens then I'll definitely make a trip to AP House for a viewing.
