Back to the Tudor...Incoming!!!

Date set, day set, 88 mph check!!

It's been quite a while since I traded away my four Tudors towards the Platona. I never thought I'd ever want another but the Royal 41 really caught my eye. I've had one on order for months from a local dealer, finally giving up and getting my deposit back. This was after I found the Royal at a considerable discount on line. I was going to get the blue dial with Romans and had ordered it as it was supposed to be in stock. Then came the Joma mail. Sorry, we don't have it, you'll have to wait two weeks. Two weeks came and went and still no watch or news as to when it would arrive. Not even a response to my email request for an update. Finally I called them and asked about the diamond dial. I received an extra $100 discount and received it in two days time at about $300 more than the Roman dialed version.

Things I like about it are the Oyster Quartz styling. The fact that it's a day date. It's got a blue dial but not a garish one. It's comfortable on the wrist. Oh, and it's got little bitty diamonds for the hour markers!! At any rate, i love it on the wrist. I like it even more than I thought I would from the photos!!

Photos with and without stickers!!!

Well done, Lee! Normally not a Roman Numeral fan, but these DD's look very nice.

Thanks, Dan. It's clearly got a lot of Rolex DNA in the design; very DDish!!!

I do like the dial and with such a minor difference in price I actually thought it as a deal!!!

Thanks! They may have them in Europe but I've never seen one in the US!!

Thanks! I would have loved to see one in the flesh as well but they haven't seemed to have rolled out in the US (at least not in the Boston area). I don't understand why. I know it was supposedly originally going to be a non-US model but I thought that was lifted. This one came out of NYC.

Congratulations. I like the watch and the configuration you purchased it in. I am yet to see one at my AD and they say they have not received one yet. I thought this would be a fun watch and as soon as I get to handle and try one on I will probably purchase it. Keep us updated on your thoughts as you move through the ownership phase. It will be interesting to hear your thoughts.

Very nice! I'm kind of interested in the 38 version without day and without diamonds.

Congrats, Lee! Lovely blue dial with the diamond + Roman combo. And love the practicality of the lumed hands.

Congrats Lee, I really love this reference. I tried a black dial on but I’m ultimately holding out for the blue. Hopefully not too much more waiting! Enjoy my friend

Been looking at one myself, the only drawback is that I hear the clasp isn't configured the best and tends to pop open. What's your opinion on the clasp?

Congratulations, and I know you have good taste in watches.

I've not seen one of these IRL but to me it looks like the bastard lovechild of a Turnograph and Oysterquartz!

That's a beautiful case Lee. Like you said - it also reminds me of the Rolex oysterquartz, which is beautiful.

Congrats!
