Thinking of downsizing...

I've been thinking of picking up a 36mm day date lately... I realize I've worn a lot of 36mm vintage daytonas.. and 38mm vintage subs... and as I look through my IG posts from the last eight years or so I realize a lot of watches look huge on my 7" wrist... I think a nice white gold day date 36.. perhaps a double quick set, maybe an 18239 might look great with a grey hermes strap...

I have a 6" wrist and a yg 36mm daydate is a Grail. I just don't know if I can pull it off. Perhaps you have something there with white gold though.

Nothing wrong with downsizing ... are you thinking as a one and only?

I'm actually thinking of moving smaller in general, having daytonas be the largest (even though they're 40's they really wear more like 39's maybe even 38's).. Part of me wants to dump my 116655 - that I was going to sell to fund a 126655 with glidelock and the new movement.. but now I'm thinking I made trade it straight up for the 37mm everose yachtmaster with the new movement and coronet between swiss made.

I've also started wearing other vintage pieces outside rolex and smaller pieces. I always liked the way the 5110G and 5196G and even 5296G sector dial fit as well.

36mm is a great size for most wrists. Here is the 118239 on my 7.25" wrist:

I don’t think a 7” wrist is huge. My wrist is 6.75” and I can’t pull off a 42mm or bigger. Having said a 36mm Day Date will look good on anyone’s wrist.

I actually have a 42mm Vacheron Overseas, Speedmaster and Seamaster 300. All look big on me IMHO.

Wow that's wild. I have a seamaster 300 and I'm pretty sure it's 41mm. They have so many models though I've lost track. I have a 6" wrist and I believe I can pull it off... marginally and only with a NATO.

Well honestly the Seamaster 300 does feel more like a thick 41mm or even a 40mm. Good point

Go for it!

I like having smaller, and fewer, watches, and white gold is amazing. You won’t regret the white gold day-date 36!

My wrist is 7.25 inches. 40mm is my current max size for a watch. Owned 44mm and 43mm in the past.

Lately I’ve been more interested in a 36mm as my next piece

Did someone said 18239?

I have 36mm RG DD and I have a small wrist. It works well for me. I’ve noticed the RG doesn’t attract much attention, which I like. I used to have a YG DD 36mm, which I loved as well. I have bigger watches, and I also enjoy wearing them. I rotate several watches, which includes an Omega Flightmaster. In my opinion, size of watch and wrist depends on the combination. My Omega is quite large but works well on my small wrist because it’s a sports watch.

My wrist is 7.5 and I find 36mm absolutely perfect. I wear up to 47mm divers but I feel like I'm working to wear them. The weight, the height...I'm very aware of the watch on my wrist. When I put on my 16030 DJ, 36mm is just effortless. Same with the 36mm Thunderbird, though it wears a bit larger.

I won't lie, a buddy picked up a BB36 and I'm lusting.

When comes to the size of the watches, I think it's totally depends on personal preference. You wear whatever you like, you are the only person that know which size should be on your wrist and make you happy.

I have 6.5" wrist, but I preferred 40mm more than 36mm, I tried on 36mm and I felt it was too small for me.
