Thanks for the help and insight.
Maybe you can try on 5167/1A, the chance is still very small, but at least higher than 5167A, 5164A, etc
you got no chance on those 5167A & 5164A unless you are a famous person

Waited four years for my 5167r (my first Patek), lists in my Salon have been closed for Aquanaut/Nautilus since a couple of years

I would ignore what people say regarding the "Patek Policy" on purchasing an Aquanaut or sports model. People (unless they work for an AD) have no idea what different AD's policies are regarding watch allocations and purchasing requirements. It varies from one AD to another.

In the UK, I was put on the waiting list for a 5167/1a in 2019 after previously purchasing only 1 other watch (not a Patek) with the AD which had value of only £5k. I received the Aquanaut last year. Ignore what people say, just ask - you never know.

Hold onto your dream OP. There was a time not too long ago when all these watches sat in the case. I bought my 5167 right out of the display.

There used to be a member here who received a 5131R application piece as his first Patek from the Geneva Salon after what I think was an 8 year wait.

So get your name on that list and start waiting!

My wife got a 7118 earlier this year from an AD we had very little history with (a ss Cartier for her was our only prior purchase). It took me 3 years of asking/reminding every 4-6 months, but it DID happen!
