Personally think the 5270P will perform strongly - the forum chatter alone suggests strong demand and strong demand translates into strong residuals.

i will probably never get into this price level however are people who do typically moving pieces like this later? I would think vs the types of watches we typically see here that the turnover rate would be much, much lower.

So to the buyer this is aimed at, then maybe resale is less of a concern anyway... until a vintage auction in 50 years.

I think people buying these pieces care just as much about value retention, it's why some would consider a new 5270P but maybe not a new Triple Split.

Strong residuals for this reference won’t happen in my opinion in the short term; models like nautilus and aquanaut are much better candidates. This reference is catered for serious collectors that are not inclined to sell for a slight premium

Exactly. Piece is already sold out and owners of these pieces are not inclined to sell. Result - strong residuals.

Even as they call it the legendary/iconic 5970p resale value suffered in the beginning until it was discontinued. It took at least 5 years for it to comand a premium. I really don’t care about such stuff as I buy what I love and enjoy it to the maximum.

A gentleman on Instagram sent me this pic showing his Salmon 3940G next to the 5270P. Attached are also some pics of my actual watch that show 3 different hues depending on lighting as I used no filters when these were taken. The dial is a true chameleon and it is an absolute pleasure every time I put the piece on. I believe the 5270P dial has a grained texture to it as mine does not. The main sticking point for Me with the 5270P if I was considering (unfortunately a bit big for Me) would just be paying list price. Major congrats to the future owners!IMG_3190.JPGIMG_3191.JPGIMG_3192.JPG

When I retire I might shift a bunch of my collection to get a GC piece like this. I love it, hopefully there will be a few around at << MSRP by then.

Mike, thanks for posting this side-by-side pic, in the same lighting. They certainly look pretty close in color. Both are beautiful. Can't wait to see the 5270p in the metal!
