[Incoming] Call me crazy but...

tomorrow I'll be picking up a 5711/1a-010... My PP SA said I should not get one (back when it was 100k)... and now 3 months after, it's 50k more. Thank you SA, you did not make me save 50k. I should have followed my heart

I'm beyond excited although it's the most expensive thing I've ever bought.

I will be downsizing my collection, and did a wire, and will give away a few hot sports Rolex -- not huge a problem in my mind though, they're very nice watches, but I barely enjoyed them all, and most of the time they live in the bank safe. So I'd rather have 2 or 3 that I truly enjoy. Even John Mayer said once: "it doesn't have to be an AP concept, but if you got your dress one, and your sport one, and the one that made your stomach hurt when you bought it no matter what bracket it was in, you got a collection".

Can't wait to wear it and enjoy it. But I wish it would be like back in the day when people that bought it for 20k enjoyed it like a 20k watch, without the wrist awareness of wearing a 150k watch these days. That's the only thing I can really say sucks. I've read here that a lot of people are not wearing them as often because of the same reason.

You will be more than happy, glad you finally pulled the trigger - 5711 is among the best!

Congrats on the purchase! It doesn't matter what the cost is, as long as you can afford it and happy with it, why not!

Insure it at market value…wear it and enjoy.
I got mine back in 2015 when it wasn’t the “hottest thing” like now. I still wear just as often in the rotation.
Someone on here I think once said something that really stuck with me…to the effect of
“Wear and enjoy while you can..why keep it locked away saving it…because death lasts a long time. Lol

Big congrats!

SOO true lol Thanks bud. I'm so excited. Should've gotten it before, but here we are! At least I'll get it before it gets more and more difficult for me to get.

Oh wow! Congratulations! So glad to hear you are getting one!
I know what you mean with he value thing. When I picked up my Aquanaut the market was at retail... now I am a little more stressed wearing it for sure. Just hoping no one notices it constantly.
You know its crazy when the 20 year old bringing your coffee to the table says "Nice Aquanaut!"
That was already 3 years ago, its crazy now.

Big congratulations again!

I am one who has gone a bit cold on wearing my Nautilus but I did have 5 years of carefree wear so that is different, but as this is new to you then, ofc be careful and smart, but wear it whenever you can and enjoy it.

Thanks so much I still don’t believe I did this … so happy. It’s such a special dial. Behaves so much different than I thought. It’s very stealth indeed.
