You guys are so civil. In the general Rolex subforum, every other comment on this topic for rolex releases is “who cares I won’t be able to get one” or “longer waitlists” lol

Maybe some colored dial variations for SS aquanauts, since that seems to be the (unoriginal) thing to do these days.

Depending on the price, in theory, everyone can get a Rolex, hot model or not. Well, assuming that person has the money.

Hobnail bezel prevents a platinum 6119, but expect 6196

My vote goes to:

- entirely new sports line (not nautilus or aquanaut)
- new platinum calatrava
- new PCC
- new chronograph

I thought about the next 5270 generation but thought it might have been a little too soon. However, the new 5172 was already released in 2019 (5170 was released 1 year before the 5270 if I'm correct) so might be possible.

No new 5230 WT since the launch in 2016 so I think we are likely to have a new version.

A new material for 5172 launched in 2019. More likely rose or yellow gold as the 5170P was presented not long ago and we already have the G white material.

They've made some communication concerning the Gondolo South American retailer, would there be something on that side? Even if the anniversary (1993) is in 2023 (so could be next year).

And a new Nautilus in Titanium, ultra-thin without second hand, with the 31-260 caliber (more a dream than reality).

I'm a great fan of the 5960 (especially the platinum ones). A new generation with the same caliber and functions or another 5960 material/dial layout?

A 5235 in platinum would be nice as well.

I wish there will be some form of new manual wind chronograph variant.

Perpetual Calendar Aquanaut??

Inline Perpetual in a different metal.

I think there might be a limited edition aquanaut but I think considering last year there won't be anything else.
The replacement 5711 probably will be announced

I'd like to see a new sports watch line altogether rather than another slightly tweaked Nautilus reference. I love 5711 but at some point the 1970s look will have run its course.

This is indeed all the difficulty of choice-making for these brands. The Nautilus has rejuvenated the brand's old image in the younger crowd or attracted a different client panel (especially the ones that weren't into watches not long ago).

The hype has been a great event for Patek and they needed it in some ways.

Now, they have a dilemma : taking the risk of getting rid of this attractive piece (talking to many) or letting the Nautilus overshadowing the classical line-up too much.

They can't leave the casual/sporty territory to AP or other brands trying to catch-up.

So, yes a brand new sport line would be fantastic but doing it as appealing as the Nautilus... is quite a challenge!

Strongly disagree.

Look at Porsche, has the 911 design run its course? Not at all despite being a 1960s design. It gets evolved, honed year after year. And it will stay alive for as long as Porsche exists.

My only worry with either car or watch is that bigger does not always mean better.

I really, really, really hope that the new Nautilus is not the same but bigger.

Patek will probably release a R version of their manual chronograph 5172 and their PC 5320.

I wouldn't be surprised if a AC Aquanaut was released as well.

Would Patek be so quick to re-introduce a new Nautilus, after Thierry was quoted as saying they don't want to be seen as a one-watch company? Thought he implied they want to push boundaries and innovate on complicated pieces as what they are known for, hence discontinuing the 5711 and 5990a

I'd personally find it interesting if they brought the rumored 6711 or some other Nautilus this fast, which would just add gasoline to the Nautilus fire

But then again we thought 5711 was done, then they brought green dial, then Tiffany dial...

No doubt we'll be seeing a lot of the colour green.

I hope we don't see a Nautilus replacement.

I hope we do see a 5720p replacement.

When is the official release of the new models? Do they do it all at once like Rolex, or do they introduce them one at a time over several days or weeks?

Would be good to give the Nautilus a pause this year.

And when they revive it, keep it the same size and just make it Pt only or something. Price it higher than just material difference for the MSRP. Let's see how many people truly love the watch then.

Would be time for PP to put their money where their mouth is if they truly meant the brand didn't want to go too much steel and too much Nautilus.

...

And what I see and hope for 2022. The new manual wind movement going into the next gen of 5196. And dare I say, in terms of steel... maybe a steel version of the new gen of 5196.

Yeah, I will agree that Patek isn't going to kill the Nautilus line, let alone 5711. They will announce new Nautilus line, not sure if this week during W&W2022 or at a later time, but it will happen. Especially after AP announced 50th anniversary of the RO, there is no way PP isn't going to respond to that. But time will tell soon :)

Aquanaut refresh? no date? If that happens, My guess is a 41mm case. They upsized most of the Aquanaut collection.

Nope, they will revert to 1 or 2 events per year. Last year was a mess with these constant releases...
