It's replaced to make way for anniversary model? Even slow sale won't force Rolex to discontinue it. Milgauss still in production and usually can see all 4 variants available at most of the outlet here i.e. slow sale. Same with YM.

It will inevitably become a collector piece. The new SD43 in a very different watch in my opinion, a true cut from the past.

When they announced the SD4K discontinued, I thought about grabbing one. But seeing the major price increase made me hesitant.
But now seeing all the post and wrist shots of the SD43, I have a feeling the SD4K is going to be a footnote in Rolex History. It may make a resurgent 20-30 years down the road with collectors. But for now, I rather use the $10K sellers are asking for SD4K towards the new Anniversary SD43.

The SDc is my daily wearer and I love it, if the 126600 isn't to big for my wrist I might consider that one too. In my opinion, these two are very different watches making them both interesting to own.
I don't really care about potential price increases, I just love to wear them |

Do you think the SD50 Red Lettered model will be sold for more than one year?

I definitely think so, Rolex has never significantly changed anniversary models or discontinued them in one year...it's going to be around for awhile albeit possible small changes in font. I don't even think that's likely either looking at the recent anniversary six digit models and how long they've been around.

It's an anniversary model, it will not change.

I bought a SD4K because it was the last 40mm none cyclops model, a historical model.
I also own a 1665 another historical model. If the prices go up, great, if not, I still am a proud owner of these wonderful timepieces. I do think the 43mm is way over priced at the secondary market 18-19K Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Never liked the SD4k and still don't. Love the previous model and to me that is truly the best of the modern SD's - the 16600. As for the SD43, I am looking forward to seeing it and think it looks to be a very cool modern SD/Sub!

I'm sorry all, for any offence caused. I was actually a bit tipsy last night and just totally loving on my Sea-Dweller. Truth is, I'd wanted the ceramic Sea-Dweller from the day it was released back in '14. But I only buy pre-loved, and these things come up pretty rarely in my neck of the woods. So as soon as I became aware of the discontinuation, I swore I'd grab the next one that came up. I couldn't care less about a couple thousand dollars "hysteria" profit, i just meant that the new one is soooooooooooo different, that the last 40 will likely, and should, be very appreciated in years to come.

It's not a limited volume numbered anniversary model. It is more like a new model that was released on the 50th anniversary. A subtle difference, but one that affects volumes, availability, collectibility, and value.

SD43 or SD4000 are not going to be lusted or hunted. There is no actual or real demand which would make them so. There are 4 AD's i can buy this SD43 right away. It is nice watch, but there is no hype around it, no actual demand.
Ceramic Daytona, Blue Sky-Dweller and little bit DSSD BLUE are different story. Althought blue Deepsea is not that hard to get if its compared to getting Ceramic Daytona.
