That moment we all regret....

Hindsight certainly is 20/20. Working with investments every day I should know. I’ve learned it’s impossible to win them all. If you’re in the game (watches, stocks etc.) you are going to have missed opportunities that’s all there is to it. This thread is fun to talk and share and empathize with each other!

My biggest watch regret was letting go of one with sentimental value. What a mistake that was. Expensive lesson to learn because money can’t replace it since I have no idea where it is today.

I should hav bought a DRSD 10 years ago or a blue snowflake 5 years ago when I first started giving them serious consideration. Now the prices are stupid.

Why do you regret? Same choice I would make, 10 times out of 10.

Could have bought the Kermit for $4,500 at AD in the Caribbean but my girlfriend (wife now) said I have too many watches. Could have picked up a 5712 for $30k 2 years ago from AD

After a freak accident metal was put in my body that I didn't want. I figured it was only fitting I put metal on my wrist that I wanted. During financial hardship, I sold the metal on my wrist to rid the metal on my ring finger. (Rolex SS date w/Roman numerals).

It's all good now. Friendly w/Ex. and acquired another Rolex when finances permitted. AD asked if she could share my story...

In 1984 Weymouth, uk, a Royal Navy surplus shop was selling milsubs for £250 each. I could have bought boxes of them ...

I shall tell this on behalf of my father who isn't on TRF. He passed up a 16520 zenith Daytona white face a few months after release. He got an omega constellation instead. His reasoning was he wanted the date. Fair enough, until I told him yesterday what they're worth now. I am sure I could see a little tear of despair in his eye. Not to mention in mine as it would have been passed down to me!!!!!! Oh well. The constellation will suffice.

Some people. That's pretty piss poor form. Of all the brands, I think Rolex seems to bring out the worst in some people. I think its because they are generally harder to get, and there is a real sense of competition in getting one--for some people anyway. Speaks well of you that you don't throw him under the bus. I suspect he wouldn't extend to you the same courtesy.

I agree with this. I'll get a Sky Dweller eventually, so its no big deal. I could have picked up a Lange 1815 in early 2000 for a song. For various reasons, I didn't. I even had the chance to get a Dufour Duality in 2003. It would have been expensive, but nothing like today's prices. Again, I didn't. C'est la vie.

I was on vacation in the states, and visited Rolex in Carmel. Thought I pop by and check out their amazing stock. And there was the BLNR in the flesh, and it was of course super nice. Never had the opportunity to try one on before. I was very tempted to buy it, but couldn’t justify it right then and there. When I came home to Sweden I couldn’t let the thought of a BLNR go so I called the AD to be put on the wait list. 2 years + was the answer.... You can all imagine how I am kicking myself for not taking the watch home with me when I had it on my wrist.

I really do not have any regrets in life, I am very fortunate and know that a lot of people and luck put me here.

I do wish I had purchased a chronograph in the late 1970's. I was a young kid, had the offer from out local Rolex Shop to buy one at about $700.00. He would have done $50.00 a month free financing. I didn't want to owe anyone. I bought a Sub (used) from him for $300.00.
In the 1980's, I could have purchased a 18K Sub for about $4,500.00 in Laguna Beach.
I ended up with a few gold Rolex watches at this point in my life, Its all good.
