Vintage pieces found in house clearance

Hi all,

Whilst clearing out my wife's Grandma's house we came across an old locked draw in a desk. With no key we bust it open and found a number of watches inside; 2 of which were Rolex.

My limited knowledge tells me that they are not super exciting, sadly, but I was wondering if you lot could help me come up with a bit more info on them and perhaps a valuation/ideas where to sell, if not for keeps.

Additionally there were 2 Omegas, 2 Seikos and a Longines. I'll get some more photos when I get the watches home.

Thanks.

Try cropping the photos so we can see the watches better. The background isn't necessary.

Hi all. I know the photos are awful. I'm waiting to get the watches in hand, then I'll pop up some better ones.

To be fair, down here in the South you might hear someone refer to their underwear as “draws”; and the word also refers to cabinetry: “where are the scissors? They’re in those draws”.

But it's spelled 'drawers' . . . in both cases

Ok, back to our regular programming . . .

Thank you Adam. The point was, in the Deep South, the ‘er’ is often silent. ;)

I'm hoping to have the watches in hand on Friday. When I do have them, I'll upload some better pictures. Promise.

Very much enjoying the English lesson in this thread.

I'll keep y'all posted.

Hopefully it will be worth the wait.

J

I don't know whether to jump in and stop them being chucked into an auction, or just let it be. They're not mine to sell but I've been asked about them as I'm the only family member with an interest in watches.

If there is some money, have them repaired if needed, cleaned up, and distributed amongst the family.
