Opinion on next Rolex please ?

Hi all,

I currently have a DJ41 blue dial and am looking to add a sports Rolex . I am thinking either a sub ceramic date or a BLNR . I was always looking at a BLNR but now I have a watch with quite a lot of blue I am thinking a Sub might be better ? Would appreciate some opinions .

I think it depends on if you would use the GMT

Gorgeous DJ!
Both are good choices, between the two I would prob go BLNR (have the black SubC, kind of bored w it). There's not THAT much blue in BLNR. If you don't need a bezel and want to go simple, would consider explorer.

Yes I should say I don't really travel much so the GMT function would be used maybe once a year for around 2-3 weeks.

Also I do really want one with a numbered bezel so Explorer not really an option.

also that pic came out way too big lol, will note for next time.

Awesome datejust! For me love the sub, not a fan of the sub date, unless it's the hulk or pm. Of your choices I would pick BLNR.

Since you're not going to use the GMT function much, get the sub.

I vote for the BLNR, the blue is a different style than your DJ and it's a fantastic watch in almost any situation.

Really nice DJ by the way. Looks great.
Regarding your dilemma. Try them both on and go with your gut. They are both popular models and if you decide you made the wrong choice, you won't lose too much to flip.

Would also consider a 5 digit sub date?

I really don't understand this kind of thing. I can't imagine being ready to spend thousands of dollars on a new watch and having to ask a bunch of strangers in a forum what to buy so said strangers start giving their own opinion on what they like.

The guy with 20k+ posts said get the sub, he must be right

I'm one of the odd ones who consider the DJ a sports Rolex. A Sub no date would be a good add. Clean dial lacking the cyclops and date window and a rotating bezel that can be used daily for timing anything under an hour and as a second time zone indicator.

I think a SubC would go well with your blue dial Datejust.

Exactly this! If you're worried about the blue of the BLNR then the LN is the perfect choice. Personally, as you asked, I'd go for the BLNR myself as I don't think there is such a thing as too much blue but if that's a concern the LN is a gorgeous watch.

BLNR as there isn't that much blue on the watch. Chances are you will have no problems matching it up with your wardrobe if you are wearing a blue DJ already.

Get the BLNR, it's predominantly Black, and under certain shades it looks all black.

Black or green Subc as you now know the joy of a Rolex sunburst dial.

I believe every collection should have a Sub. Go with the 114060!

Thoughts on adding a 5 digit sub as compared to the 6 digit or a BLNR ?

I don't get it either. Yet, there are so many posts like this.

Don't get the GMT if your not going to use the complications.
Yeah cause everyone who buys a Rolex uses/buys a model based on if they are going to use the complications.

It's usually just for confirmation or to stop you making a very unpopular, and maybe for a good reason, choice. No harm in getting other opinions esp as these watches are not cheap.

I agree if its for something that is of the rarer nature. There is always someone who knows more.

there are those threads that are just there saying "should I get the BLNR or the Hulk", those I don't get. or the ever popular which one should I add to my collection. UUUGGGGHHHH

Maybe its just me, but if I want something I buy it, I don't care what others think if I own it or not.

Hell, look at my first Rolex buy, a Milgauss Z Blue. Its the ostracized model in the line up. It doesn't have a huge following and it causes dissention amongst the purists. I like it so I bought it.
