Serviced watch

Hi all,

My watch (116610lv) was recently serviced and the hands as well as the sapphire crystal glass was changed as I had chipped it :(

It's my first ever Rolex and since owning I've managed to learn so much about the brand however, one thing I'm uncertain of is that once the hands and glass have been changed (by Rolex) does that mean my watch now has "service hands" will this affect the price in the future?

Thanks

It's not like a vintage watch where new hands would look out of place due to lack of patina.
Your new hands are exactly the same as the old/damaged ones so there will be no loss of value because of it.

Thank you, it's not just the value I was really worried about... Unfortunately I was having some issues posting on the forum and so I kept the post short. I was just worried that the hands were not original anymore if that makes sense?

When I pass it on or sell it do I need to declare the hands have been changed?

It is true that a watch is only original once. Most collectors and OCD Forum fans may insist on originality and want to pay less if anything is changed, however, the market is the same regardless.

On the other hand, these same collectors look far and wide to find "period correct" parts for their watches and those are certainly not "original". A modern watch with new, identical, parts would have "period correct" parts that are indistinguishable from original. It's no biggie.
