I believe this comes in black as well? A buddy at work just got one. Not a fan of Tag at all but i wore it and its a really nice watch. You should be able to scoop one up well under retail i imagine. He paid 5k for if i remember correctly.

I would do it if it was for a RO or ROC. ROO is too trendy and might be something you would get tired of eventually. As I get older, I tend to like classic models more than the new/trendy models.

I would not make that trade as you have two watches I like much more. If you like the AP better then it makes sense to do the trade. But in my opinion a large watch on a rubber strap doesn’t really check the dressy box. Make sure you’re not selling yourself on how versatile it is because you want to do the trade. It sounds like you like it more which is reason enough.

This is my personal opinion but that Royal Oak just seems to have too much going on with it.
It's a bit like a customised car with just too many additional mods and multiple layers of metal all subtlety is gone.
Like I said it's down to the individual but I think the two you already have are good looking pieces and a bit more subtle, this is like a watch on steroids, if you like it that much then go for it and good health to you wear it well!
IMHO I think there are nicer APs available too, but you did ask for opinions and thoughts.
Regards

If the size is good for you then it's a no brainer, this AP is on a whole other level, including over Hublot and JLC, while PP don't make anything really comparable either.

Think you've got this backwards, the BLRO is much louder with that bright beacon of an insert, while this AP is mostly in grey and black and far more subtle.

I’m going to guess most people that poo poo AP, have never seen one in the flesh, let alone held it or owned one.

I like and own both brands very much, but AP’s are special.

Sounds like you'd be ok with parting with your current two, so why not.

You don't know unless you try. If the deal works out and you have the funds go for it!

Considering your wrist I would probably do it. How does the sd43 fit?

Of course do what makes you feel comfortable. Personally, I’m not a fan of AP.

I would not buy an AP at an AD. The depriciation is crazy on AP ROO.try finding one on the second market. If you don’t wear your then selling them to fund the ap makes total sense to me.

As I was reading your thread I couldn't help but think about a Tag Heuer Carrera as an option for you. The 01 and 02 versions of the Carrera are fine watches and there are some 43 and 45 mm variants which may look great on your wrist. I 'd at least go try some on, if you could find one you like and be able to keep both your watches its a win win. You could sell your 16710 and grab a full gold and ceramic version! Good luck

Looks like you want to do it so why not. Seek yours privately (it will not be tough) to maximise prices and then buy the AP grey/pre owned where you can negotiate with cash payment.
The AP is real nice so I can see why you want it, but if you can I would keep the SD43 and add more cash.

Those two for an Offshore seems like a bad trade. Now, if it were a ROC, that might be a different story, not for the Offshore.

No. Just because i dislike AP. And in love with Rolex. And do you really need a chronograph ?.. SD43 would fit perfectly on your wrist.

But, if this AP speaks to you, it doesn't matter what anyone says.

SD43 fits nice, doesn’t look small. AP does cover my wrist better and have wanted a chronograph for a while now, just could not find the right one. AP and the 45mm Tag Carrera both in my eyes cover well, just one is an AP the other is a Tag. Whit the Tag I’ll have three watches that I like very well, with the AP I’ll have one watch that I think I’d love. The wife is on board with whatever I choose, just hard wanting to make the right choice.

Was about to say almost exactly the same thing.

I absolutely love that AP. It looked a little bit silly on my wrist. It's a great fit for you though.

Never really liked the ROO especially at 44MM but I must say it is growing on me and I think looks better and more modern with the larger stoppers compared to the 42. Suits you well
