Straight end links on a 5513???

Might be controversial but I'm trying something a little experimental today!

Although reactions I saw were mixed, I actually am quite a fan of the straight end links on the Tudor Heritage Ranger. Subsequently I found out Tudor themselves were inspired by the 7923 handwinding Submariner from their historical archives.

(This looks so good!)

Anyway I thought I would try something similar by fitting straight ends on my 5513. I like the utilitarian look it gives to a classic tool watch and it also sort of reminds of various JB champion aftermarket bracelets that were meant to fit pretty much any watch as well. And like a strap change it's just one more variation on the many different looks of the 5513, I will still use the standard fitted links as well.

What do you guys think?

I think it looks good. I also like the Ranger's straight endlinks, and put them on my BB for a while.

No controversy here - looks great! This is an awesome way to change things up, and easily convertible back to the original end links. It's a from me.

Not for me I'm afraid.
It's like chopping the arms off the Venus de Milo and saying it looks better.

Somebody did that already. Maybe she was doing a "two thumbs up" and it was actually an improvement. At least the end links can be changed back, anyway.

How true, and unlike the Venus's arms, the straight end links are starting to grow on me !

Looks a bit naked I'm afraid... but if you love it then that's all that matters.
No harm done, can be changed back in a flash.

Exactly. I find the 5513 to be super versatile and easily adaptable to different straps (leather, suede, nato, leather nato...etc). I rarely wear it more than two days in a particular combination. I don't think a mesh would work with it but this is a way to add variation to the bracelet option.

Actually I bought a cheapo Oyster-like bracelet off of amazon which came with different end links. I had to open them up a little bit to get them to fit the real oyster bracelet as the fit was slightly different. I'll drop you a PM with the link.
